question: was there still a Slayer spell? (I'm thinking not or Spike would have mentioned it here?)

On to the next chapter - poor Buffy!

Nothing beats them when they've got some history to throw around. Can't wait to hear about the world changing...

Hi - Your story got rec'ed at the livejournal community 'buffyversetop5' and so I came over to take a peak because I thought the premise was incredibly intruiging..

Well here I am 12 chapters later and don't think I'm stopping now! I just thought I'd take a minute to write a few comments before I go on to the next chapter.

First of all - like I said above, the idea for this story is fabulous! I'm a big fan of Buffyverse what ifs.. and always like to hear new and interesting ones, and this one is definitely interesting - Buffy getting trapped in the portal isn't any huge stretch, but the futuristic world you've created is amazing and I totally buy into every line you write.

And you've made Future Spike so undeniably sexy... But I won't gush on that because as you pointed out earlier.. Spike + suit = hotness, and in my opinion if you mulitply that by success and confidence, well, you get beyond hot. But we're talking about your writing here (or at least I am) and it's been really good. You've managed to keep the edge that is Spike, and yet domesticate him in a believable way. In particular I love the way you write the relationship between Mya and Spike - I could really see 'canon Spike' softening up and turning into this Spike you've created given the future circumstances you've set up.

And all the twists and interesting explanations are so good!! I really liked how you showed that Spike was married (and had me completely uncomfortable for a while) and then later on explained, oh wait, he's single now.. and then bam! he has a daughter!! And I love how in this chapter you've kept the events of Chosen and season 5 of Angel fairly close to canon (with the exception of Buffy) - I'm very impressed by the efforts you've made to tie in events from Buffy into your story - it just makes everything seem more realistic..

And well.. I should shut up now (and I really want to keep reading!) so in summary - excellent story, great idea, and I wish this happened on the show.

PS: Buffy is very in character too - can't wait to hear about Willow and Xander and the rest of the changes in the world..

Love this fic and was excited to see the latest upday. Well written and cool and has a unique twit to it. I like it very much hope to see more added soon!~

So Spike really thinks it is his fault that Buffy lost all because he didn't bring the demon back. Too bad they didn't try to send the dead demon through the portal. I really want to know why the Shadowmen did this to Buffy. She wasn't even there to fight the FE. Looking forward to the next part.
