i really like this story. i hope riley does come and gets really mad, then spike can save her!!

I read your response to me in an earlier review and wanted to comment.

It's sad to say but true: Your Riley in this story is pretty much like my ex-husband. He was a complete control freak; a monster, I'm not kidding, his own sister said that.

The really weird thing is that after all of these years (I mean years) the old boy is a physical and mental wreck. I almost feel sorry for him but everyone kept telling him: What goes around, comes around. Karma if you will.

Our daughter together is just about fed up with him. I find this kind of sad really...sigh. I guess some people just dont get it. The cosmic forces; be it your belief in God, karma, etc., have a way of coming back and biting you on the ass.

I hope you are healing from this and I am glad that you have family and friends to help you. I, fortunately, did also.

If I may, I would like to make a plug for a wonderful organization that I have supported for some time now through my work.

It's called 'Su Casa' or 'Your House' in English. I'm not sure how many sites the program has or if they are even titled the same out of So. California.

It's a wonderful program that shelters abused men and women and children. I'm proud to say that my employer company has helped sponser it (at least one of the things I'm proud of about my employer).

They shelter abused women and their children and yes, even some men. They can get legal advice for the families; things such as restraining orders, etc. They provide food, beds, even job training for the adults.
A high up manager in my company has the a program going where families are adopted for 6 weeks to get them back on track.

Do I understand the pain of a situation like this? You betcha. I lived it, but thank God I got out of it in a fairly short time with my daughter.

Again, I had family and friends to help me emotionally, but so many women and men (can't emphasize that enough) do not.

Programs like Su Casa give people hope for a decent future for them and their children.

I think this story is so important because I think it could give readers the courage to change their lives.

I know you warned me, and its not fair of me to say this but SHEESHHHHHHHHHH!!!! That first chapter was very hard to read....I love angst but the violence was so in your face...which is why you are a great writer....boy I will have to read the rest through my fingers as my hands will be covering my face....great job and I will hang in for the rest;)

I think it's incredibly brave of you to write this.
Some people don't realize that this kind of thing actually goes on in the real world.
Please update as much as possible. Although it is a tough read because of the subject matter, it is important and I am looking forward to more.

Author's Response: Thank you. Although my soon to be ex isn't as bad as Riley is in this he was bad. It's taken me a long time to find the courage to leave but I have and am now working through things with the help of family and colse firends. And writing this does help even though it is hard at times. The new chatper is now up and thank you very much for your find words and incourgment, it means a lot. Thank you.
