Oh my God I was seriously on the verge of tears when I read that she had been stood up. The least he could have done was take her somewhere else then the Bronze to get her away from the embaressment rather than all the way standing her up. Spike has a lot of groveling to do. It's defiantely about time that he learned that it was actually Buffy in the picture. You introduced him beginning to learn the facts really well. Great chapter even if it was sad. I love it! Update real soon!!

I'm hoping Spike gets some kind of retribution from somebody, especially Buffy and Joyce. In fact, I am really looking forward to that. He can just explain to Buffy and Joyce that he wanted to have sex with Dru so he decided to hate and be extremely cruel and horrible to Buffy thereby getting him in good with Dru. I'm sure Buffy and Joyce would be very accepting of that explanation. LOL.

I kow this is high school and how childish and ridiculous everything can be at that age, but I'm thinking Spike has gone too far to ever be in a dating relationship with Buffy. I can see after he has groveled and apologized and explained and talked to Buffy, that they could be friends (ala Xander) but for Buffy to trust her heart to Spike again? I would think that would take some time. Especially after she builds even more walls up after his crass treatment of standing her up. I want to see him work at really getting to know her, etc. - but from Buff'ys standpoint? He didn't just go along with a prank - he was too happy to fiercely hate her and be angry with her for no reason but to get laid by another woman. That's got to shatter her. How can you develop a relationship from that? This is very well written and I am enjoying it. Just not liking Spike right now.

So Spike decides to hurt her and humilate her anyways. Just a little differently than what was originally planned. What an ass. He could have called and made up a lie but chose to hurt her iinstead. Not seeing why Buffy would ever want to be with Spike now. What is he going to say? "Sorry, I stood you up; but I have hated you for no reason for a week now and was going to totally humilate you publically. But since I found out some truths about you, I decided to hurt you and humilate you privately instead." Oh yeah, there's a catch! No matter what Spike was thinking or doing when he didn't show up at Buffy's, it was not good enough. I hope Buffy doesn't give him the time of day. I really hope that he doesn't all of sudden start asking Buffy her side of the story, because that would just be a slap in the face at this point. He needs to apologize, explain himself and just leave her be. Can't wait to see what Joyce has to say about all of this.

Sorry, enthousiastic here ;)!

So, not only you update soon, but you give answers to questions at the most perfect moment... Good timing ;)! The idea of the photograph is a perfect twist in the story.

So, Spike will have a lot of bills to pay concerning his health. First: a mental disease “the knight in a shining armor” syndrome; second: heavy problems of sight. And now, serious need of a dentist, because it seems that the boy doesn’t stop to greet his teeth…

The way you picture Spike’s behaviour is simply perfect. Indifferent, cold: a perfect stranger to Buffy. I have to say that at each line, I felt an strong urge to stand up and shake furiously the boy ;)! Not only for his cruelty, but for his stupidity too.

Spike sees with disgust Buffy in her “her happy bubble ». But he has been himself in a bubble since his arrival in this school. A bubble with very opaque walls.He is so sure to be in his own right, hating and scorning Buffy, and he seems even proud of it! But not in front of his mother Joyce (nice character :) !) of course ;)!

And THE big moment, when his bubble shattered in thousand of pieces :)! When he sees THE photograph of Buffy: pure moment of perfect bliss!

Finally, the Light of Salvation comes over him :):

“Spike, feeling like his eyes were open for the first time since they had looked upon the dark beauty of Drusilla, realised that he didn’t even know why her friends had ditched her.

Something had happened a year ago; something dark and terrible, but he had never been told what. Bloody Hell; he had never even asked. »

And he will not have to see an ophthalmologist ;)!

And the final scene, with an all alone Buffy, who has waited for Spike, makes me sad, but in a way, relieved. Yes, Spike didn’t come, but if they went to the Bronze, things could have been worse. Maybe Spike thought that between two bad situations, it’s better to choose the less bad: not going with Buffy to the Bronze and “save” her. But no doubt he will have to present very good reasons (with some groveling too) when he will see Buffy again. I hope to see at this moment a strong and angry Buffy than a tearful Buffy ;)!

Wait and see ;)! (And you can slip the metaphor of the dance, no need to ask ;)!)

Wow. Somebody needs to have some serious sense smacked into him. Repeatedly. I'm talking about Spike, of course. Though I'm glad he found the yearbooks and took the time to look through them and realize the truth, he's the definition of jerk for standing her up.

OMG! I was waiting for Spike to fond the photo but only after humilating her and now standing her up... I really feel like crying, which means you're an incredible writer because I don't feel like this often... This story really touches me because I was once in this situation and I completly understand all the heartaches she is suffering... I hope Spike will find the courage to beg for her forgiveness and that he will understand what a horrible girl Drusilla is without ffalling in her mind-traps.
I've always hated Dru but now, in your story, she makes me sick!! Update soon please, I love it !

I am soooo glad he found that yearbook. It was a revelation that knocked his socks off, as it should!!! I am feeling so sorry for Buffy now, and I hope he comes clean with her, and that her trust will be salvged. He needed a huge wake up call. He also needs to see that his "new friends" are nothing but cruel hearted people that don't deserve the time of day. I so am looking forward to the next update and thanks
