Now Buffy faces a choice: will she, can she talk to him? Tell him her secret, how she had Harrison?

I read what Buffy feels, and you know what? It kills me. It kills me twice. First, the fact that she is so scared, so ashamed to say she was raped. That she prefers that everybody think she is a slut who sleeps around. And second that she is so afraid to lost her new friends if they knew the truth.

""As long as they didn’t know the real truth about what had happened, they couldn’t look down on her and lose the fragile respect they had formed for her.

After all, what would they really think of her if they knew she had been raped?"

Is she so afraid to be seen as a victim? Or maybe she thinks that everybody will say she deserved it, she tempted the guy, that it was her own fault. That now she is tainted, soiled.

How is it possible to see a woman who endured so much pain with nothing else than compassion, and anger against her attacker?

I hope that Spike's reaction if (when?) he will learn the truth will show her how much she is mistaken. Spike who is in a way far away and so close to Buffy, reasons why it might be easier to talk to him...

I just love the way Buffy has found her real friends, what do I say, her new family. And I can't think that they could act as she fears it.

To resume, Buffy has to learn to say loud and clear, as Aretha Franklin sang it so perfectly, "All I askin' is for a little respect"!

Great chapter. I always love it when someone writes Faith as a tough chick who sticks by Buffy. We all need a Faith. Hell, we all need a Spike too ... what is it someone said?... Spike is like a little black dress ... he can go anywhere and be what you need him to be (or something like that)
This story is really touching ... when I was in high school (a long time ago) there was this gorgeous girl who got pregnant at 16. I never knew the story behind her but she was so sweet and shy and just a great person. I don't think that any one treated her poorly but my I just knew that her life was headed in a direction that I could never imagine and I completely admired the hell out of her for keeping that baby. This story is probably one that a lot of people can relate to from all different perspectives.
Please keep on writing (I got a little panicked when an update was delayed) it is such a great story and it's going in a great direction.
And you my dear are a great writer!! Hugs and keep the chapters coming!!

Teenage pregnacy doesn't always have to be a 'bad thing', but most of the time, other people make it that way. There was a girl at my school who got pregnant, and though people rarely said anything to her face- sometimes it hurts even more to know that everyone is talking behind your back. I'm really really glad you're enjoying the fic [sorry for causing you paranoia however!] I promise I'll update more quickly this time. xx
