I've just found this story and have spent a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon devouring it.

Whilst not generally a fan of Vamp-Buffy tales, this is so well-written I find myself ensnared.

The earlier chapters viewed from Spike's POV had me agreeing with every word; the characterisation is perfect.

I feel awful that Spike's actions have reslted in this, he will be reviled yet more; however I am fascinated to see where you take this.

Very well written. I'm off to find more of your stories now!

Author's Response: I have to say thank you for your wonderful review. I have noticed that buffy as a vamp stories tend not to be that well favoured and am glad that you like this one. You don't know how happy this has made me. Hope you like the upcoming chapters

Please tell me you intend to continue this story. I would love to see how Buffy would deal with her new vampirism and how she would let Spike be a sire to her.

Great story! I love reading from Spike's head. Also didn't mind the Dru closeness, since you're starting off from canon. Poor Spike....he's trying to reach so high, and nobody gives him an ounce of credit. It was amazing, really, that with all the constant ridicule by the Scoobies, that he never just took the lot of them out, once and for all...and the chip isn't in the way for succeeding in that when all he has to do is hire some demons or throw a homemade bomb in a room.

What he's really asking of Buffy is just acceptance of herself, and him. Talk like respectful equals. Buffy could have made a lot of their encounters easier on herself if she had just listened without being cruel and snide. She never grew past that popular bitch of 14 that she was before becoming the Slayer. One of the reasons I'd take Cordy over Buffy any day.

Author's Response: I totally agree concerning Spike. He may be rash but he did have numerous resources with which to annhilate the Scoobies. I still believe though that Buffy can develop to be more accepting, its just that in my fic she is forced to acknowledge Spike far sooner than in the show.

This is interesting. I really like it so far. Unfortunately I have to be off to work now so I cannot read the next four chapters. I really like your writing. You have a wonderful way of describing what is happening. Usually it is diffuclt for me to submerse myself in a scene, but you've made it effortless for me. I can't wait until 6:30 rolls round so I can read the other chapters.

Love the pen name (OOMM is one of my favourite episodes and Spike's "Silly bint" comment a fav moment from it) and your fic is really interesting thus far. You have a writing style that is enjoyable to read, and goodness knows writing an established character's thoughts in an authentic-sounding voice can be hard to do. I think you've captured Spike and his inner-William really well however so kudos for that! Looking forward to where you might take this from here on out.

Your narrative is absolutely great, from Spike's POV - you've caught his wit, his insight, his confusion and his raison d'etre. Buffy. And that bit at the last - about Ben's perfume: inspired!

Great first chapter! The internal dialogue and musings of Spike in one of my favorite episodes is fun to read. it's what I imagine him to have been thinking :)
