Couple of notes:

* as in another of your fics, you have Buffy wondering about "stuffing" something up... this is NOT an American phrase. Buffy would more likely worry about messing or screwing something up.

*I wouldn't have bothered to even mention the above, but you used the sentence:
“Of course.” Spike rose from the table. “We’ll be off. Night all.”
I think you meant "William."

Wow, hot kiss. Love that he was tender and thoughtful and Buffy was blown away--or was she connecting it to Spike and all the times she wouldn't let herself get carried away with him? Whichever it was, I love where it's going.

Whilst I have been hoping for a reason as to Buffy's previous mental state, I realise that that may not be the story you want to tell. Nevertheless I am enjoying the story you are telling and really feel for Buffy having to assimilate into such a different world.
