Fred's reaction to Buffy's wild claims was delightful, and Buffy having a friend when she's hurting so badly is a real balm. Spike feeling remorse about letting her go without explaining the claim is also soothing. Buffy would have been happy to find Spike at the entrance to the library, but she was feeling particularly weak and vulnerable.

I'm looking forward to how Fred affects Buffy's flagging spirits, and how it affects her reaction to Spike when they finally meet up again.

This was another entertaining, well written chapter.

If she knew, she’d know he was coming for her. That he had found her as he’d promised."--A tiny bit glad that he's hurting, too, but even more glad that he's concerned that she may think he wasn't coming. Love how their thoughts run parallel.

Update! yay!! I did the 'happy dance' when I saw an update to this wonderful story. EVIL cliffhanger though. Glad Spike caught up with Buffy and I'm wondering how she's going to take the whole claimy thing. Really enjoying Fred in this. I always loved her. Great story. Can't wait for more!

Loved the conversation between Buffy and Fred. Fred got a lot of surprises (news).
Spike is so near now yet so far, he hasn't found her yet. Even if Buffy is willing now to be found to end the pain. ~ Looking forward to more; loved it :)

I sincerely do not know how you do this ... write such wonderful yet very different pieces. I mean, in certain chapters of each story, I can totally tell that it is you authoring. But much like a talanted actress, you really have this ability to change with each story. It is awesome.

I have missed reading SF. But Echoes has been on my mind so much. I do believe it to be your masterpiece Holly. I find myself wishing that it could be made into a movie ... wouldn't it be the most amazing prequel to BTVS? It is so powerfully written, it would just blow everyone away.

This chapter of SF was wonderful ... love the introduction of Fred. Always love Fred!! She and Buffy would have been an interesting mix ... as you so wonderfully showed us here. Fred the rocket scientist/brain/sweetheart and Buffy the experienced/dutiful-yet-tired/skeptical girl.
