Fantastic chapter!! Oh yeah, I'm def. still here and loving this story like crazy!! Man, that hug between Angel and Buffy---and her seeing how much pain it caused Spike---just broke my heart. Loved it!! Can't wait for more!!

That was such a moving chapter, definitely did justice to the version of the events on the show. I can't wait to see how Spike will take care of her or where he's going to take her...

Well done on interpreting the episode. Someone still has to seal with Dru, though.

Incorporating Spike and Buffy's relationship and bond into this chapter worked seamlessly. I enjoyed the added violence against Angelus, even though it did little to change the course of events. Spike's fight with Dru was also colored by their new history together.

This was a wonderful turn of phrase: "He moved as though he’d already thumbed through the script; as though he knew her next attack before she did. As though reality had a five-second tape delay, giving him an immeasurable advantage."

I loved this, too: " The welcome tenor of his voice washed over her like a personal baptism. Buffy blinked and realized for the first time she’d been crying. Crying silent tears. When she looked up, she found herself awash in compassion unlike anything she’d ever known. And in that second, she yearned for his arms like she’d never yearned for anything."

Having Spike at her side, understanding the heartbreak of sending a souled Angel to Hell is really going to change the trajectory of the story. I'm looking forward to it.

Things should be a lot better for Buffy with Spike there instead of on her own. Great update.

Excellent, emotional chapter. Spike acknowledging his growing feelings for Buffy was a wonderful read. This broke my heart for Spike: "All he had to do now was live with the knowledge that he was falling in love with another woman who could never love him back. " Yeah, we'll just see how much she can't love him back...

This was perfectly in voice and made me grin: “Can we just save the world now and reflect on how very stupid I am when we’re back to being mortal enemies?” Fortunately, I'm behind and have another lovely chapter to read right away.

At least with Spike's support this time, Buffy won't just be running away. It didn't solve anything the first time.
