Nice to see Buffy open up and admit those things. That was a first step in the healing process and now Spike needs to face the things he has done and said to her and apologize. I believe that is the only way they are ever going to have any form of a healthy relationship. we all know that saying those things are hard for Buffy not because she the slayer but because she is so afraid of being hurt and rejected. Where Spike is concerned i'm thinking that Buffy is getting alot of extra anger. I believe that all the hurt and pain from his other experiences with Cecily and Dru are also coming out and Buffy's catching the brunt of it. I'm not saying that Buffy dosen't desrve it just maybe not all of it. People more than likely want agree with that last statement but that is what i think in my opinion. I'm glad they're at least starting to address some of the issues that exsisted long before Spike got shot.

Neither is innocent, which was noted in the previous chapter but I think for this particular moment, it was important for Spike to know exactly what Buffy was apologizing for. Since she was apologizing, she should get it all out there at the same time.

Anyway, I'm just looking forward to whatever you have planned but I hope they don't rush into anything physical - they need to heal and build trust first.

I'm sorry, but even though SR didn't happen in this story, Spike is hardly an "innocent". So, when are we going to see Spike apologize for chaining her up against her will? For telling her she "came back wrong"? For badgering her, over and over, after she'd broken up with him?

I'm sorry, but if this fic is going to have Buffy dredging up and apologizing for every little thing wrong she's ever done to Spike, then I think that Spike should have to do the same thing. Otherwise, this is exactly what I was afraid of: yet another fic where Buffy has to grovel before Spike. Ugh.

Please. Treating Spike as an innocent just degrades his character and makes him so much less interesting than he really was.

Great update! The only thing about this that irks me is that Spike is acting like SHE'S the only one to do any 'hurtful' things in their relationship. Hell, he tried to rape her, yet he seems to forget that. Not saying just cause he did that, everything is even, but he should remember that he did it to her too, ya know? Anywho, please update soon! Hooray!!!! What a surprise ending for the chapter, but a really wonderful surprise. I love the emotion that Spike is expressing~ his frustration, pain and fear, all rolled into one. And, I can't believe I'm saying this, but I love Angel's response about doing whatever it takes in a relationship.
