Great chapter, tho a little heartbreaking for Buffy st the start. Still, knowing what Spike went through on the show in S6, I'm not too torn up about Buffy being the one who has to convince Spike that her love is for real for a change. I think I'm enjoying the shoe being on the other foot, in fact.
Author's Response: As much as I wanted to not deal with Spike not believing Buffy's feelings...she wasn't exactly a river of emotional information in his direction before his death, and now that he's back -- which is hard to deal with in and of itself -- she suddenly loves him. I loved this chapter. A lot. The beginning was heartbreaking - it both warmed my Spuffy heart and made me go into emotional!weepy girl. And then your cliffie ending? ev0l.

At first I'd like to say, that I've read unhealthy ammounts of spuffy fanfiction (provided that such thing could possibly happen!) so I've become quite a critical and somewhat demanding reader. So I'm not just trying to please or make you happy when I say that your fic is absolutely GREAT!
I just love your way of writing. You don't rush but neither do you keep on yapping of some specific thing for too long.

This fic just keeps getting better and better, not only giving an alternate look into S5/6, but beyond (i.e. Spike rejecting Buffy's declaration of love). The little touches here and there make this story original, but eerily familar at the same time. I'm enjoying it very much!
I've got my suspicions about what happened to Spike, and can't wait to see if they pan out or not. :-)

I like Spike's honesty, telling Buffy. And see, she thinks it isn't important anyway.
Too bad that Buffy wasn't able to tell him (she loves him) but it's still early for her (because she just acknowledge it to herself) and she didn't have the courage.

Love it, so Spike guessed right away it was Buffys blood and that was why she was so nervous.

Author's Response: I like to think that Spike (and other non-fledgling vampires) has developed sensitive taste buds to blood...and I think that Slayer's blood packs a little something extra. Either that, or he realized that she'd given him human blood and put two and two together. :)

Excellent push and pull of emotions in this chapter. Buffy's hemming and hawing around emotions Spike has no clue about is very entertaining. I wonder what Spike is feeling is askew other than the missing chip.
Author's Response: I think on a normal day, Spike would easily pick up on what Buffy's hesitating to say. But he's dealing with having come back to life -- and not of his own accord -- and so is a bit mixed up. Glad you're enjoying this!
