Pull out the rug, right from under him. I'm glad you decided that enough was enough. I can see where some people might have been put off by now but I guess they don't remember how badly Buffy treated Spike through out most of the entire series. Great job.
Author's Response: Much bigger than just Angel... you'll see... *cryptic smirk* Yes, he did need a wake up call. This was never meant to be drawn out this long; I was suppose to have them apart by chapter ten, not twenty-five. I just tend to get lost in a type of situation, though, and want to exploit it to its full worth. That's just the way I write sometimes. Yes, all readers need to have the way Buffy treated Spike in mind when reading this. Also, it's great to look at revenge without the act that evoked it - to see revenge in its truest form and see how bad it is. Undoubtedbly, anyone who reads this fic will be hit over the head that vengeance is a bad thing, which is one of the MAJOR things I wanted to get across. Thanks ever so for reviewing, Verda.

I love this story. Please continue. I have a feeling that you might be having trouble with the dark part of the story. Just remember the sooner you write it, the sooner you get it over with. Please post. It's turned cliff-hangery despite the best of intentions.
Author's Response: School has been getting in the way - sorry about that. When I originally planned this part of the story, I figured I'd be pushing out a chapter every few days, but that definitely isn't the case, and so it feels like I'm always leaving y'all hanging. :( I also thought that we'd get past the dark parts at around chapter ten, but that certainly didn't happen. ^_^ And, yeah, sometimes I just wanna zoom right past the dark parts (really the main story arc) and get to the happiness, but I must admit that I love writing dark stuff. This story is pretty much always with me; I'm always thinking about it and jotting down ideas whenever I think of them. So, really, it's better that I've taken a step back for a little while, as I've refined several ideas and key plot points. Thanks for commenting.

A major reason why I loved Spuffy on the show was because of how dark and destructive but also passionate they could be together. MUCH LOVE FOR SEASON 6!!!

I probably wouldn't of gotten further than the first chapter without ya. Sometimes I wanna write this as a pseudo-tragedy with a sad ending, but you're all there to faithfully keep me in check. ^_^ And I'm happy for that, too, as I'd also be pissed if I read any lengthy Spuffy story that ended sadly. Author's Response: Definitely a toss up. Hopefully you'll find some solace, though, in that I'm going to explore fully next chapter how Faith found out, and Spike will be just as shocked as Buffy. Basically, he didn't consciously do anything bad; maybe that will put the hate off of Spike a little. He knows that its taboo, trust me. Spike might be sick, but he's not that sick. ^_^ Thanks for commenting!

Author's Response: D= Yeah, I guess I want people to hate him right about now. Not by the end of the story, but at this low point, it's completely possibly that everyone will hate him. I have enough up my sleeve to make things amendable; I'm not ending the story before they're both happy and together. Hopefully I'll realistically get there, I know I've dug everyone in quite a whole, from the Buffy antics in the pre-story days and the Spike abuse now, but I believe I have good enough plot and events in the future to slowly mold them back together. Author's Response: :D I love your reviews; they tell me exactly what you're thinking and where to go, what's plausible and what's implausible, how you feel about the characters, etc. We will explore how Faith came to know the secret next chapter; it's not as bad as it seems by the cliffhanger. As for Spike groveling... he's gonna do some, but probably less than you'd expect. Mostly I'm gonna throw him in situations where he can consciously be a better person, help Buffy, see the world in more than black and white, destroy stereotypes, and overall become a hero. Not abandoning the anti-hero in him, though; most of the stuff he does will probably be unknowingly at first. Thanks for reviewing! :D
