Reading your responses to the reviews left for you, what you wrote here happened to stand out to me. That's basically how I see canon Spuffy. Well, it wasn't all "play", but towards the end of the show I do think they came pretty close to what you described. I know fantasy AU might be more fun but you must write some Post-Chosen/NFA Spuffy fic sometime. Please? *makes puppy dog face*

Author's Response: I need to do some heavy reading and re-reading as a break once i finish this and te. Nauti is on my long list of those reads too. I'm so out of touch with who is writing what these days because writing myself leaves so little time for enjoying other stories. I have other spuffy fics i'm working on currently, but none i'm ready to post yet until I have a sizeable handful of chapters ready and polished. So it will be nice to take my time with them and read for fun for a change. Many fans? Oh, I don't know about that - if it's true, I don't notice it, I'm so busy trying to get better, playing with my writing style, trying out other genres (in my side projects) to expand and see what I'm capable of). I suppose the one thing I try hardest to do is to write something unique from anything that's been done before, I loathe to reinvent the wheel. I had a few people ask me a long time ago if I'd consider writing a vampire fic. I honestly would but i'm not sure if i could come up with something that hasn't been done before... at least for spuffy. I have an original fiction i'm working on, a novel, size tale that'll take me at least a year to write, but aside from that, what sort of canon or even vamp spike with non-slayer buffy is there left out there? I wouldn't even know if whatever came to mind was original or not because I haven't read a ton of vampire fics like most folks. Sighs... maybe one day . For now, the next fic that will see TSR once its ready is entitled Murphy's Law... another comedy/mild angst type. I truly enjoy writing comedy and hopefully experiment with ever so slightly different characterizations of spike and buffy. Ahhhhh, see? I agree with you wholeheartedly. It is their canon relationship with the playful type of roughness, even if the lines were grey there for a bit. Well, if you do have any ideas on some vamp plots, feel free to email me hon. Stupid PC, half way through my review and it kicked me outta the review box and deleted what I'd typed! I'll try again.

I'd show you some love, but after that last chap, I don't think I have the strength. See, you did great on that "flashback." No fumbling for Spike (must be all those videos). Very hot (but then I would excpect nothing less from such talent!) Muse must be quivering with satisfaction. Listenting to all those people clamoring for a "hotel" scene and you and muse deliver.

I loved that Spike just kept asking her "be my wife" over and over until she said (or nodded) yes! Very sweet. She was so sure he'd never marry again after 2 failed attempts but I think the 3rd time is definetly going to be the charm for our fav Drill Sarg.

He was so cute when she told him he was gonna be a daddy. Very nicely done. And you answered my question, did Buffy know she was preggers, she did, and for quite some time (you sneaky little devil you).

Well, I'm gonna cut my ramble short this review cause the PC keeps doing strange things, everytime I type a "y" it kicks me to a different line in the review and start typing somewhere else. Real pain in the butt. I think it's cause (damnit, it just did it when I typed the s in cause) I was using a wireless keyboard with this PC and now I'm not so the for some reason the keypad is acting up! I hate when PCs start doing weird stuff!

That picture! I laughed out loud at Buffy's embarrassed scrambling on the car hood, and you turned the comic coverup on a dime with the romantic proposal. How did I not see that one coming? That entire scene was emotional and charming, and throwing in Spike's canon "'m a BLOODY ANIMAL" was delightful.

I love how you're depicting the close relationship Spike and Buffy have with her parents. Spike asking Hank for her hand was in character and lovely.

The hotel sex scene was romantic and erotic. The way they take care of one another, in the bedroom and in life, gives me a warm buzz. Thanks for another extremely entertaining chapter.

Naturally I couldn't resist the dusty car for humor or adding in Spike's egotistical `m a bloody animal line - it just seeme dso him for the moment they were having. Yes, I imagined in my mind when writing this that Buffy's parent's would just adore Spike. He's way better than Angel, takes care of their daughter, they can clearly see they are in love and well... Spike has charm. I'm pleased you enjoyed the the hotel scene. I couldn't picture it as something completly crude. I really enjoy reading your stories... have two of them on my favorite least and am starting to read your others now. I love the way that you write Spike all cocky, rude, and full of himself....not a love sick person. This story to me is unique from anything I have every read and the fact that you have the background knowledge to make everything real just makes it that much more special.

I was when I first started watching the series.... guess I just can't resist a bad boy though once Spike popped onto the screen. I'm going to be contrary and say I hope Spike gets to have his baby boy. Whenever there's a Spuffy baby predictably it always turns out to be a girl. But I think a boy would be a better fit for them. Unlike my girly girl self, Buffy doesn't seem the type who'd want a baby girl so she can dress her up like her own personal dolly and teach her how to cook and bake, you know? Tee hee.

Author's Response: I'm glad I changed my mind too - it was kinda fun writing that scene, lol. Oh yes. I have tons of ideas and plot bunnies in the works right now. When my muse doesn't want to cooperate on any current wips here at TSR, he's writing other fics that just aren't ready to post yet. (I intend to get them more than halfway written before posting anything) I have about 3 I'm working on, but the one to be on the look out for next (once TE and IAN are finished) is entitled Murphy's Law, another comedy/romance where you guessed it... whatever can go wrong does. And of course I'll be updating WDMC also - haven't forgot about that one. As for SPike getting his son, *winks*, you'll find out next chapter. My husband was like Spike, he was just convinced, becuase it was what he wanted, that he'd have a son first and then a daughter... damn guy got his way too, lol.
