Sad to see it end on such a bittersweet note, a denial from Buffy. I hoped for a better ending. This is just too sad.
I read in the comments you're planning a sequel. Hopefully this will end better.

Well duh of course we want him to come back, though why he would want to after what a complete bitch she was to him, I just dont know!!! However I was thinking maybe you could go forward in time and he would come back for Joyces funeral or something...listen to me sugesting to such an acomplished writer what to do next*grins*but just thought you should know that people out here really want this to continue;)

i can't say that i was really feeling this story. the whole thing just confused me. you have her saying she doesn't want anything to do with him one second, then begs him to stay another, and then goes back to saying she'll stake him. i just wish she can make up her damn mind already. at this point, i really don't care if spike does come back. i don't like this buffy and i think he's better off without her.

Well I thought it was a great story except for the last line about her loving him. I'm pretty sure that she never would or could. This ending felt fitting and if anything I would love to read a story about what happens to Spike after this, maybe a couple of years in the future with him coming back to Buffy's funeral or something like that (if you decide to go really off canon for it).

I cried buckets when I read the last chapter! Buffy should go out and try to find him and prove that she loves him like he loves her. Why can't there be more guys like Spike in the real world who are that in love with a girl, I would love to have a guy like Spike as a boyfriend
