Oh wow...this is a horrible day for her. I can't believe Spike gave her up sooo easily. Kinda disappointed in him. Was he still drunk? What in the world happened?

I knew he was cheating on her with Darla. Poor Buffy. She didn't deserve any of this. I hope she doesn't get into an accident or something cuz she's not really paying attention to anything anymore. I wonder how Spike and Angel would feel if she did get hurt and ended up in a hospital. Poor Buffy. What else will she have to go through?

Author's Response: It may seem like he gave up easily, but really, all things considered, he's been pretty long-suffering. I meant for him to be kinda intoxicated, but really he just hit his breaking point. Not too much more! Thanks for the review!

buffy is soooooooooooo stupid in the last chapter or two. She makes me want to hit her and tell her to wake up already.

same chapter twice

Spike's rage and Buffy's grief were vividly detailed and rang true emotionally. In all the strong emotion, I actually laughed at Spike's "Now," he said in a tight, wire-strung voice. "Now I'm going to have to torture him." It was a delightful light spot in an otherwise tension filled chapter.

I've somehow missed several chapters of this angst filled, well written story, so I have the pleasure of enjoying several at once. The painting showed, again, how connected Spike and Buffy are emotionally, while the diamong earrings highlighted the chasm between Buffy and Angel.

Lovely, pain filled line here: "The illusion had broken, though, with their return trip to the table and Buffy’s decision to hide her pain under a champagne induced smile."

what a great story. Nice to see Dru being good for once. I hope you will update!

I didn't know that this had been updated. I loved the chapter, even if it did not go exactly as I had hoped. Obviously they will get together eventually, but I'm just a little impatient. ; ) I'll pay better attention for the next update.

Please don't say that you don't deserve feedback ... sister, you deserve much more than positive feedback for even attempting to write and share your talents with us ... it is a thankless venture. Let me tell you this ... you have one of the best stories out there and whether you update once a day, week, month or year we should be grateful. This is one of those fictions that really comes to life and it is easy to picture in the minds eye. You have a gift. Thanks for sharing.
