It´s nice to see an update on this story, but I was a bit disappointed that the charade is still going on and the levels of deceit still deepen. This Buffy disgusts me. One thing Whedon´s Buffy never was, was a cheap liar and deceiver to the ones she claims to love. I can´t find a smidgen of sympathy for your protagonist here when it all falls down on her. You don´t love someone if you are able to betray him like this, especially when there is no greater purpose behind it, and it´s just pure egoism and fear. This is wrong on so many levels, I hope it ends soon, it´s kind of hard to read. I always want Spike and Buffy end up together, can´t help it, but this incarnation of Buffy really pisses me off to no end. I hope she grows some morals soon.

It's fiction, sweet. I'm just telling a story. It doesn't mean I advocate what is written here, and it certainly doesn't mean I don't think she's wrong in doing as she is.

People have deceived and betrayed those they claim to love out of petty jealousy (and I speak from personal experience) why not a lie? I could think a few people that would rather manipulate and deceive someone than to be alone.

I didn't make any promises when I started posting this, nor have I made any since. It's always been up to you to read it or not. I do hope you continue to give me a chance to 'redeem' my character (after all, they though Spike would never be able to after the events in Seeing Red), but if my fic is not for you, then I thank you still, for sticking with me up until this point. :o)

William's nervous energy colored this entire chapter, and it was charming. He's so sincere and vulnerable, the lie just becomes more and more overwhelming.

Ohhh, sweet chapter. Smart of Cordy to draw Buffy's decorating preferences out in casual conversation. I wish the baby was really William's. It's sad that Buffy's guilt is really getting to her, though it's understandable. It's realistic in the sense that many many people will go through life keeping something from someone they love for fear of losing them. There's a lot of guilt to be felt, but it always seems worth it, you know? Your story has a good lesson to be learned in it, and I'm anxious to see how it pans out in the end. lol, sorry...
