I was waiting to see how it ends; it's bookmarked in my LJ. I wasn't sure about this one because I like my happy spuffy ending.

The broken promise is Spike not keeping Dawn safe? I don't see what he could have done but oneself blames one the most (hope that made sense).
I love your writing; you make Spike's feeling visible, gives us a glimpse in his head. Bittersweet (sad) tale but good.

Author's Response: I tend to keep a happy(ish) ending clause in effect for all of my stories, because I'm a sucker for an upbeat ending as well. Spike couldn't have done anything else, but that doesn't stop him from feeling like it was his fault. I'm glad you're liking it so far, and thanks for the review!
