I started reading this story. I love it. But Buffy is the one with the problem. It isn't Spike's fault that she feels like a whore. He didn't make her open up her legs and let him in. That was all on you, honey. It isn't like he is sleeping with someone else or he is treating her bad. I kind of wanted to slap Buffy for telling him that she was ashamed of him because he treated her like a whore. She reminds me of Buffy from the show. Where it is about me and the way I feel. Poor Buffy.

Sorry to inundate you with reviews but I just realise I got so caught up in the hotness that I forgot to praise how well you managed to conjure up the images of our favourite couple in the thirties setting. It works so well and you're so good at making the reader picture it without an overwhelming amount of too detailed description.

Author's Response: Now you really have made me blush LOL. When I do a period piece I spend a lot of time researching the period and the customs. My pet hate is to read a story supposedly set in the early 18th or 19th century and the writers uses words like OKAY, and has Buffy to Spike dressed in clothes with zips - don't even get me started or I will rant for hours. I know that there are a lot of readers who don't care about that level of detail, but I am not one of them. To have another writer understand that and appreciate it makes me glad I take the trouble to make my stories authentic. Thank you for that - you are my star

This almost seems like a first chapter.. I know many enjoyed the first... just sex , no storyline. Guess I am more of the fairy tale girl. Not into the kink.. Now they have been together for years and she thinks of herself as a whore and thinks he does to. Sad.

Author's Response: Hi Pam S. I actually wrote this chapter in response to several personal e-mails asking for some back story on how they met and how Buffy ended up with Spike. The next chapter will be plot, I promise. As for BRM, you are not the only reader guilting me into writing the next chapter - and I will try and get something up over the weekend.

Now it was great to know how they first met (I could clearly imagine the scene of her singing!).

About their staying in Sunnydale, I'm ansious to know what exactly they'll find. How will Joyce and Dawn greet Spike.

Just another little thing: I loved how Spike chose the ring. I think he's so cute, with those little signs of affection he keeps giving her.

Hi Gilly, Nice to see another brill chapter .I'm looking forwards to seeing what Joyce has to say about Spike and Buffy's engagement. The trip down memory lane was vey nice and I believe Spike took Buffy with the gentle care needed, as not to scare her.. But it about time shje let herself love him and stop listening to the gossipping words of the chorus line girls... Everyone know the girls in the chorus line are just looking for a rich sugar daddy.
