Definitely didn't lose me--I was so happy to read a new chapter! I'm also really happy with your portrayal of Buffy here (nice to see her being compassionate and understanding) and I think that the way your wrote the Spike-Buffy interaction was great (and who wouldn't love a purring Spike :)?

It might have taken her a bit to bring her head off the sand to accept what she'd tried to deny, but once she did, she knew Spike wouldn't do her any harm. Not all monsters have the face of one, showing for the others (the outside) what they are.
And Buffy knows to see behind the face (well when it comes to Spike she does).
Loved the scene when Spike showed Buffy his Grrr-face. Well I hope Spike can convince Buffy to stay; then hey don't have to part. Not sure if she can manage it (because of the gallery) but we'll see. ~ Still with you :)

And yes, she does know, it wasn't that difficult, this Buffy might deny details or clues she doesn't want to acknowledge, but once she did, I was sure she wouldn't push Spike away. ;)

I was so excited to see that this story had been updated! I'm really curious on what that smell was on Giles.. Riley's blood perhaps? I also enjoyed the acceptance that Buffy showed Spike. I can't wait for more. Please don't keep us hanging!
