Noooo --- Not almost the end already! This is such a great fic. I've enjoyed it immensely. I read it straight thru til the last chapter or two, after I found it when searching for post-Chosen/NFA fics. I've actually enjoyed the intricate nature of both Charlotte's personality and her character, as well as the tradgedy that has befallen her. I usually don't have any interest in Mary Sues or OC's, but Char's vivaciousness and openness grabbed out & pulled me in right away.
Your storyline is also unique, drawing in the original Kaldarash gypsies slain by Angelus & the rest of the Scourge of Europe. Actually, it really is nearly fitting vengeance for the Aureleans to have to suffer, while watching one of their beloved family members suffer. Unfortunately, Angel isn't the one to suffer this time... I always wondered why none of the other of the Scourge paid for the near decimation of the Kaldarash...especially as Spike apparently finished off those left in the encampment.
Again, this has been a great fic, and I do hate to see it drawing to a close... please don't rush the ending. BTW, this has been great without vast amouts of Spuffy-loving... a much-matured Buffy knows Spike loves her. She also recognizes his maturation and assumption of family/friend responsability, and supports him. This is a pretty new side to see in Buffy.
