so buffy's ashamed of william......that's what i gathered from her meeting him where students would go. of course she'd be that type of person but hey...it's the beginning so i'm hoping that she realizes that caring what her friends think about who she hangs out with is pointless. and not thinking of him as a boy...way to make the guy feel wanted buffy? i'm sure she didn't mean anything by it but that was kind of harsh. william seems to be a little more stable in this story than in other ones that i've read before. he obviously isn't trying to fit in. he seems a little bit more like spike without he dye job and all black attire. a little more confident.....great job. more soon.

Buffy and words are sometimes not "mixy" either. She didn't mean it to sound as heartless as it came out. She just meant, hey, not my boyfriend, he's my tutor, but it came out a little harsher than intended.

You're right. While he's not really fitting in and perhaps he'd like to, he's not completely lacking in confidence and doesn't hate who he is. He won't let even Buffy run right over him. Well, at present anyway, not sure about the future yet.

I thought first Buffy didn't want to study, that she had an excuse but I was wrong. Still she doesn't want the other people to see her with William and he noticed it.
Loved the banter between Buffy and Dawn, typical siblings. Dawn has sharp eyes, noticing William's reaction. And she got Buffy a bit of thinking :)

Author's Response: No, she's serious about studying. She needs to make sure her grades come up. Yes, she's still being careful to keep him separate from her "real life" and "real friends".
