And indeed when Buffy doesn't expect it she learns something familiar about William. And got an address where to meet him after all :)
Even if Buffy seems to recognize Spike in William there are signs that William has lived even before Spike died again.

Impressive start of this one, Buffy's voice (Buffy's POV).
No wonder Buffy wasn't pleased when she noticed that she was too late for Spike. The security at the airport didn't stand a chance against a slayer, neither did the cell phone ;-)

I'm gathering Spike Shanshued to William, or are you making a twist and reserved Mr. Pratt is a descendant or something of our original Wm/Spike?
And I'm gathering also that Angel did NOT Shanshu, just survived the battle (ran and his like a sissy?), and must've indeed sucessfully signed his chances to Shanshu away? Seems if she arrived in LA in less than 24 hrs, Angel must not have fought for long and seemed in mighty presentable shape to have fought an apocalyptic army from hell and who knows how many demon dimensions?!
Does placing Buffy away in an English loft mean TI (the Immortal) was "putting -Buffy- away" as well? In a for good sort of way, finito, retired, it's over, too crazy-a-chick, too much embarrassment?
Poor Buffy, to grieve alone. Why have her best and dearest not come? Xander would understand loss (if he wasn't in ass-Xander mode) and ditto Willow, and Dawn is simply family....tho' she seems to want to hide Spike's loss again from her at least. But, in Spite of the Sunnydale gene to brush things under the rug and best to not know or see them, her friends/family are NOT stupid, least of all Dawn and Giles; they are going to know she went off on Angel for a REASON. And surely some security tapes would've been reviewed re: her...Watcher's manage to watch, after all...especially in light of her being jailed and deported (can they do that to a US citizen, even one living abroad?).
Interesting twist, can't get enuff post NFA (and some less angst-only post-Chosen)... so please, write on (and right on!), will definitely look forward to your next installment!

Author's Response: You don't miss much, do you? Don't worry, there are answers to everything you mentioned. This chapter was from Buffy's POV, and quite honestly she didn't care and/or know about some of those points. We'll find out more about the battle later on when she does. Thanks for reading!
