Absolutely beautiful ending. As with all your fics I'm of course left wanting more, but that's in no way due to a lack in your writing. I'm just a greedy fan who adores your stories and wants them to continue for ever and ever. ;) This was a wonderful love story, and I wholeheartedly agree with the direction of this fic. This really was the only way for them to be together, and they both understood that. The only things I would've liked to see were the background on Drusilla and some form of resolution between Buffy and Willow and Anya, even though Anya already seemed to know where this was going (man do I love your Anya; every story she appears in you do her perfectly). But this fic was about Buffy and Spike, I get that. And since you're such a gifted writer, I can easily picture Buffy and Spike doing some post-coital cuddling and talking about everything in their pasts. Really excellent job, and I can't wait till your next plot bunny strikes!

Another good story from you, I had no problems with him turning her. I do find him going good pretty much every time he meets Buffy is kinda boring and takes away a lot of potential in stories.

Maybe that's why some of my favorite Buffy fanfic is Spike/other, when done right it has a lot more potential for Spike to grow and evolve as a character.

You know, when you become so immersed in a world, as many of us have done with Buffy, aspects of what you thought, felt or knew before can be supplanted by what becomes your new 'norm'. This is something I have thought about before but never had so keenly brought home to me as by reading this particular story.
Before I ever became a Buffy fan (yes that time did exist though it feels like it can't have) I was always interested in the world of vampires and often the blood/sex/bite/love intricacies involved in the stories. I enjoyed stories where the vampires were the protagonists and you could care deeply about them. I agree wholeheartedly with your assertion that the show would say one thing about vampires and then show something entirely different (Spike being THE case in point). In fact when I first began watching the fact that vampires were portrayed as out and out evil with no redeeming features (I started watching mid season2 before going back to catch up) almost made me stop watching, I'm just glad the rest of the characters and the writing were so good that I found myself pretty well addicted.
You captured something beautiful here and I must apologise for and congratulate you on prompting this war and peace-esque essay that I appear not to be able to stop writing. You took me back to a place where there were shades of grey to ALL vampires and their relationships andI thank you for that. I could have wept when you had Buffy awaken and still be Buffy (as could never happen in cannon) and have her still love Spike. I felt his fear, I felt her freedom, I felt their love. You are without doubt one of the most talented writers I have ever read, (and I'm including commercially successful authors there too!) and Ihave always read A LOT.
Thank you so so much for sharing this. I don't get the impression that it bothers you at all, I think you're far more sensible but please don't ever let people saying 'I didn't like this' bother you. IMHO that's about the most useless review you can ever get. It isn't constructive, it isn't a critique, it's personal taste and if you don't like something then just leave it be! Also, well done for not putting up warnings - yes it would have spoiled the story and again IMHO there is nothing worse than having a story spoiled. I could go on and on about your characterisation of Buffy as mentioned in your notes but suffice it to say I agree with everything you said!
Sorry this turned into quite the waffle and all I really wanted to do was get across how wonderful your story was and how much I REALLY REALLY enjoyed it!

Thoroughly enjoyed this one. A nice chance to see what Buffy could have been like if she were just a normal girl... running into our Spike. Not one told very often, but a lot of fun and I'm glad it worked out for them. Always a fan of your work and this one was no exception. Thanks for sharing.

AHHHH I LOVED THE ENDING!! IT WAS PERFECT!! i LOVED this story and am SOO happy that u finished this fic. this story was so unique and the plot was perfect, u always kept me guessing. also the ending was perfect and i couldnt see it any other way. THANK U sooo much for writing this fic, i really enjoyed reading it and CANT wait to read more of your work.

I absolutly LOVE this story!!!!! i was tearing up at how distrought spike was when turning buffy!!! but i still loved it specially the ending!!
