Dru and Darla have now done their part to be kept away from the wedding. The fight was fun and furious and I laughed at the image of Faith and Buffy sitting on the two complaining about the lousy quality of their weapons and their inability to fight. Anne is going to be well coddled in Buffy and William's household.

I'm looking forward to more punishments coming for William's ill mannered family.

This was another rich, emotional chapter. Anne's insistence on accompanying William to see his intended worked beautifully in forging yet another friendship between these Saxons and Norsemen. Her reaction to the warmth and genuine friendships William has made was pitch perfect. Lady Anne is going to find a loving family home with these two.

William and Buffy's wordless reunion was romantic and giddy and erotic. They have a lot to talk about, but there will be time enough for that after the wedding. William's shock and happiness at his daughter was a thing of beauty, mirroring Xander's reaction to Anya's presentation years before. I loved Anne's ‘You cuddle your lady, I’ve got the baby,’ she said determined not to let go of the child. " She's finally going to have a daughter-in-law and grandchildren that she can be proud of.

Buffy setting Jon up for a surprise freeing was charming. She really loves a surprise, and this was a corker. Her marriage to William to solidify a treaty between the Norse and the Saxons was an even greater surprise. It's no wonder she fainted dead away.

William's return to his own people was bittersweet. He's blossomed with his "captors," and now he is able to hold his own with his brothers, but he's lost even more than he knows. Liam's humiliating defeat at his hands has made an enemy, so it's a good thing he and his mother are remaining with the king.

Tara not being ransomed by her father severed her ties with her family completely. It's lovely that she found a loving place in this hall. Both she and William deserve the love that they've found here. I'm sure William gets his chance to find his way back to Buffy, but there's still a lot of story to go. I'm enjoying each rich, emotional chapter.

Just read the first ten chapters of this fascinating story and wanted to say how much I'm enjoying the rich detail and vivid setting you've provided. William and Tara's reactions to this strange new world are wonderful. They've been adaptable and pliant, unlike Harmony. I'm already enjoying the connections these two are making amongst Buffy's people, and the Tara and Connor interaction is charming.

There's a strong sense of community in this group, and William and Tara should thrive under their roof. The glaring differences between this place and their own homes is being pointed out day by day. It's fascinating. I'm looking forward to finishing this up bit by bit.

This was such a perfect ending for a wonderful tale, honey. Really well done! I love that Anne and Olaf will end up together and that even Giles traveled with them back home. And of course that they have their little Helga to complete their lovely family, I'm sad Helga died though. *sniffs* Lovely story, sweetie!

That was just AWESOME!!! I really have no other words of praise to offer because it was just THAT awesome. I had THE greatest chuckle over William's behavior tho - brings back good memories, hee hee - men really are quite useless unless given a job to do while we women give birth, LOL.
