This is great! I have absolutely no idea what's happening with Spike's soul and Buffy. And that's good, because I like to try to figure things out ahead of time. I'm so interested.

I've been meaning to tell you how much I love the way you write Spike's soul! It's like it's a separate entity with it's own thoughts, feelings, actions, and it clearly has it's own agenda where Buffy is concerned. I'm guessing that as the story progresses it will be harder for Spike to differentiate the soul from any other part of himself like with the reaction to Buffy in the library. BTW, that whole scene was brilliant, and I suspect Giles is beginning to see a bit of the bigger picture! Excited for the next chapter!

Oooh! Loved both how he found out, and how he reacted to it! Wouldn't have liked him reacting like Angel (thankfully it didn't take him a century to cope in BTVS either!), so I loved his lack of change in attitude!

Love the way Spike it dealing with his soul! I really hope he only figures it out during a run in with Angel and that Angel is the one who has to tell him. I too like Angel but I always thought he was a big baby about not being the only ensouled vampire. Can't wait until Spuffy goodness ensues especially with younger Buffy (she was always more open-minded)!

Author's Response: She really is more open-minded, isn't she? Later in the series I always kind of missed that ... even the other characters got to be a bit more bitter and cynical. Sigh. Anywho, I'm glad you agree with me about Angel, not that he doesn't piss me off at times ... but I cannot see him as a totally bad character. Thanks so much!
