So this chapter happened the same time as the last one?
Then Illyria told Buffy that Spike is dead even if he is very alive. Then she doesn't know everything.
Maybe Spike activated her slayer demon to more consciousness. Because she had her demon when Spike still had his.

She's got it, doesn't she? Buffy's got Spike's demon, or part of it, doesn't she? Immediately after clasping hands, leaving him (tho' that wouldn't be typical of him), she took on his speech patterns, nervous habits, surliness, need for release thru violence...or did they exchange parts of themselves, perhaps each swapping a portion of their inner demon? It would explain a lot...her hearing his voice murmuring "in" her ear; the nightly unrelenting assault upon her own psyche, the hateful---hate-FULL thoughts toward "herself", the goading.... tho' Spike's demon may've slightly resented her, +/-, in the past, he never really hated her, even so much as loving her deeply as opposed to Angel(us) who despised her when unsouled. If Spike's demon was ripped from him in part or whole, forced to reside in her with her walls, mental blocks and dogma to somewhat shore her up to minimize damage he might want to do, he--the demon---might be kinda a) crazy (like it's been
speculated Angel's became) and b) might feel he has the right to hate her and to torment her, feeling that she was the cause for "his" predicament but more so because she a) hurt Spike so much & often and b) was the cause of Spike/Wm.'s 2d death, ie @ the Hellmouth. There would be no sweet William to temper him, to soften and calm him. In fact, it might even spur violence in Buffy on, if her demonic essence grasps the feeling and boils over with it.
And Spike, of AtS S/5 was in general a more mature Spike (when he wasn't ragging on Angel), perhaps less demonic unless absolutely necessary...so, is Spike literally missing a part of himself, in some portion? Is this partially the reason he feels he needs to "find himself", that something is missing, in the days prior to his 3d death via WR&H? Then, upon subsequent return as William, whaf is he? Apparently Shanshued? Is he becoming SLAYER? ie Male Slayer? He's retained the general perks, but the question remains. Can't figure WHY Ana didn't ring up
Giles straightaway and both be on the first plane to London looking into it all. And Faith, what, she thinking w/her privates again, in a reality with more resurrections than the Holy Land, and she doesn't think to mention she saw somebody who looked JUST like Spike??? Buffy is going to have her ass. Literally.
Here Will's walking 'round almost like a zombie (except his Spike/other times!), apparently literally a part of him missing? Is Willow going to go in Buffy's head and find Spike there reading the books on the shelves (I think that epi was "Spiral")?
They wouldn't have swapped or split souls would they? Demon/essence just seems more plausible.
OK, sorry, I've pondered on waay too long, just...now you've got me hooked...w/line & sinker...and now I'm Spike-ish-ly impatient to find out more, and to see how this is going to play out!!!
More, please? Thanks, TIA,

Interesting storyline! But, you should really add a Spike/Other warning, otherwise you're just asking for flames from angry readers.

Author's Response: Thx for the pointers! Hopefully they will let this slip for this time and be glad that it probably was the only passage with Spike/Other. xoxo
