I have a feeling that Spike won't be able to figure out where that boundary should be. Glad Buffy at least has someone in her life that she can be herself around. Hope Joyce takes the news as well as possible!

Buffy was indeed distracted a lot because of her mom. Bad idea to go patrolling hadn't it been for Spike to go with her.
But it doesn't seem as if Joyce will send Buffy back to said hospital, rather then regretting it now in the first place (sending her there).

I loved all of it, but these two parts were my favorite:

“Sorry, Peaches.” Spike said, patting the arm that was around his neck. “You’re not going there again.”

Then he smashed his fist into Angelus’ face.

And
Like she was fragile. Like she deserved another treatment after what she’d been through. Maybe she did. Or maybe they both could just stop acting as if she’d break down any moment.

I also love how Spike is himself, not whipped!
This has gone in my "favorites" since the 1st chapter and is earning its place all over again with every update!

Oh I hope he does make it on patrol with her, because he seems to be the one that is getting through to her right now. I wonder how Joyce will take it.

Glad Buffy is taking back her life! Hope Joyce won't take the news as badly as in canon, but I suspect it may be worse. Curious to see what Angelus wants.

Oh shit! What's Angelus doing there? Spike is SO not in any condition to fight him... I only hope that if Angelus attacks him ('if'? Who am I kidding?) Buffy will save him -- at least out of owing him that much!

Sounds as if Joyce doesn't know about Buffy's second job, her calling. And as if Buffy is afraid of the dark now (or doing her job).
So Spike will be patrolling with the slayer hat he hardly knows... but in the condition Buffy is now he could kill her with ease. But where her watcher is? Good question; he doesn't seem to care that she isn't patrolling?
And a weird way to come to Sunnydale (doesn't sound exactly like a dream); as if a vengeance demon is involved.
One question solved now (about the watcher). But Angelus arrived... Buffy should really start patrolling again.
