My heart goes out to you darling. I can empathize with what you're feeling. My own mother-in-law also had 3 bouts of breast cancer and went into remission each time until this 4th time when she died. I'll keep you and her in my prayers... take all the time to visit her as much as you can sweety, I'll still be here. As for the chapter - luved Buffy's reaction, I mean, this has GOT to be shocking to her and here Spike is all nonchalent about it. Can't wait for the next update as soon as your able. You can't really blame Buffy for freaking about a bit, hopefully things will be better for the blonde duo when they have their talk. Loved the dialogue between Spike and Buffy in this chapter. Great update!

First of all, I'm so sorry about your mom, sweetie and I really hope things get better for her and you soon. *hugs you tight* And getting net-nannied at work truly sucks. I feel for you, that's just awful. Especially if you're anything like me and reading Spuffy is an escape from RL.

On to the chapter.... I absolutely loved it! From Buffy's confusion and reticence, which given the circumstances is completely understandable, to the droolworthy and deliciously sexy that is your Spike. That crawl of his on the bed to stalk her then imprison her against the closet door gave me shivers. It was... so GUH! I would've been a puddle of Mari-goo by then for sure. I'm looking forward to more, sweetie! *huggles*

My mom had a radical mastectomy back in the '70's (back when they still did those) and tho' she doesn' t seem to think it's much, she has survived without re-occurrence and is 90 this yr. So y'all keep hope, hear? (And you keep up with self-checks and mammograms as soon as you can get 'em). If you need updates mailed, let me know and I can see what I can do for ya, if you'd like. Also, dunno if you have one that's capable, but even fairly basic cell svc with browser capability (but--get the unltd. data package like for ex. ATT offers $20/mo +/- add't to plan and most pda's have unltd plans, ATT's being around $40/mo add to cell plan +/-) can go to LOTS of fanfic sites, Spuffy anyway...at least keep boredom @ bay & feed the muse somethin'...Non-java/&-or html-capable phones may not let you read NC 17 fic cos of the little java applet warning that pops up warning about stuff of an adult nature...TSR here, has it,as does EF, VK, & others, but BSV doesn't. I also haven't tried it using the wayback machine on old sites/fics... so, from somebody who HAD to get their fic on in places w/o regular connection, no LT signal, LT in DellHell, and w

Author's Response: Hey Kara! Thank you so much for the wonderful review! I cross my heart and promise to keep up with all exams. My doc already has me scheduled to get mamograms starting this year, which is about 10 years earlier than the normal recomendation, but we're being cautious. Mom's starting radiation next week and they hope that will ease some of the pain in her legs, which hurt due to the spot of cancer in her hip bones. Dr's are being optimistic, so here's hoping, right? As far as the internet, hubby and I are shopping around for a laptop and looking into wireless connection. I just can't take this any longer! :) Thanks again!
