*sniff* That was a roller coaster. When Edmund came for Isobel to save her I was happy. Sad again because it was too late now :(
At last one good thing: Isobel could say goodbye to him and that she loved him. But what did Edmund do now, being alone again...
Spike 'translated' Buffy the dreams and still it wasn't enough for her (to believe?) and she is running again. Loved that Spike ran with her ;-) Good he never gives up.
Unexpected twist! Edmund. And even more surprise... can it be Isobel? I would be glad to know she's still alive (well kind of), still there with Edmund. *crosses fingers*

Omigawd! I wasn't sure if I was seeing that one coming or not! But it looks like The Powers message WAS that an ancient Vampire (or two!) was coming to The Hellmouth after all!!!
Well played! Glad Isobel is still with Edmund! Although I have to say I think Spike would've felt a Master Vampire (or two) of that kind of age & strength coming miles away!
Til this point I wondered if we were going to discover that our two were the reincarnations of the lovers...or more specifically, that Isobel was Spike (well, actually either of them could have the brown hair, neither really being blond), but then that name is another form for Elizabeth, and that Edmund, with his green eyes, would be Buffy, eyes mirroring the soul and whatnot...but alas, you blew that theory right out of the water!
And you have hit on s theme that Joss so totally missed the chance to pursue---why did it never occur to him to tell a tale of a turned slayer? If fandom could come up with the idea, did it never occur to Joss??? It's the perfect chance to introduce a character, take her away, and maybe even give her back---something done so ofter in the Great One's 'verse, altho' more often he just lets us think he gave us something (unlike wonderful ff writers) just to jerk it back with the other hand!
At any rate, love, love, love what you're doing with this fic! Wish it were longer! You have a good feel for the flow of a period piece (and yeah, I think I picked out some historical inconsistencies, and yeah, it felt a lot more like a late 15th - early 16th c. theme than that of mid-14th c. somewhere (?) but still you've got good flow to the tale.

By way of explanation; Twilight, a Novel by Stephenie Meyer. (www.stepheniemeyer.com) Her characters;
Edward Cullen; Bronze hair, naturally Green eyes, though Amber because he is a vampire.
Isabella Swan (Bella); His human love interest. Long dark hair, short, beautiful, pale.
Edmund and Isobel; very close.

I loved it! The hide-and-seek scene with Isobel and Edmund was friggin adorable. But I have to admit I'm a bit confused. Why did her eyes turn black before she bit him? Was there magic involved? Or was it metaphorical blackness, as in they darkened due to lust? Regardless, I hope Edmund saves her before they burn her at the stake. I'm liking Dawn in this too; curious and supportive, but not whiney or pushy. Looking forward to more!

I have been terrible about reviewing this week, but I'm still reading and totally hooked.

I don't know which couple I feel sorrier for! :-( I just wish that Buffy could find it in her heart to feel the same compasssion for hers and Spike's realationship as she does for Isobel and Edmund. I guess it's always easier to see those kinds of things when it's not yourself.

As always, I'm on the edge of my seat!

I'm really enjoying this story. If you think Spike had to choose between a physical or talking relationship with Buffy, which would it be?

Please tell me Isobel leaves with Edmound and the Council just reports her dead. I love the chapter especially how Dawn wants her to talk to Spike. Please update soon.
