This chapter was just perfect, sweet. With the notable exception of Giles interrupting so rudely, of course. *pouts* The whole scene before that was divine, truly droolworthy the way Spike eased her into accepting his... ahem, attentions. ;)

Absolutely loved the way Buffy defended him from Giles, the way she's opening up to Spike, how smuch he trusts him already. I can't wait to see what's going to happen at the meeting, it should be good to see everyone's reactions to the changes in Buffy.

Author's Response: Oh I loved that lullabye... I sang it to my son all the time and he loved it. It always brings a tear to me eye. Buffy will be able to do a little more, but not much for now.

I'm hooked! But does that constitute a third full death or just a "little death"? (snicker...) And, by saying "You didn’t take enough for a full transfer so no;..." is Spike saying that she DID actually fully die a third time, and be re-born (re-animated?) as something else? The fact that she hasn't popped him in the nose again yet makes me think so...maybe someONE else...! So did she inadvertently claim him? And wouldn't he have to claim her in return then? Wouldn't an incomplete claim be the explanation for the pull and more? Is this following along the ideas that Drac was putting out there, with Buffy tasting vamp blood?
I just thought I'd say I've always loved the fics that paint William as having been a med student or doctor in his human days (tho I did read one once where he'd learned physical therapy to help Dru)... for some reason it sort of fits with him; perhaps it's the caring and giving nature that he has displayed even and especially during his time with Dru, but also with his Sunnydale ladies.

No, not a third death...just Spike's blood invading her system and trying to take over - but can't complete a claim because it's not enought to do so. She initiated a claim but didn't complete her end... so they're both in limbo - and it's driving Spike insane basically. The med student idea is very appealing and fits better with William than a bloody poet. Glad you're hooked Kara and hope you enjoy the rest of the story!

God - you really got the tear factory going here. Poor Buffy and that song, *sniffles*, was just so dead on with the mood - damn you for making me misty eyed, lol. I absolutely LOVED how Spike came in to cradle and soothe her - swoons - but then when she went and stopped breathing, I held my breath until she finaly took hers. Indeed she's performed a huge no-no by tasting his blood, but at least they have their explanation for the connection. I'm curious now that the bond has pulled him into her dreams, what KIND of naughty dreams she may have, giggles. A brilliant chapter darling - smooches to you.

I loved the chapter, love the way Spike keeps creeping in her thoughts, the dangly bits scene had me in stitches and can we kill Hank while we're at it?
