But I forgot about the missing blood for a moment too. It's starting to take a toll on Spike. *nods* It shows too that he has great control over his demon as days went by. As it was when he took the blood.
Clever way to remind Buffy. And just in time it appears. The world doesn't it make easy for Spike to go without blood.

Love this story and think the pace is perfect, though I really want to have it all right away of course! You don't slow the story down to explain how this new dimension works, but all the details are well-thought out and fit in perfectly with what's going on. I understand the blue blood concept and like Buffy's reaction, but I was surprised Spike didn't realize there is at least one human there from his world he could eat rather than spend the next several months starving. he didn't even act like it occured to him and he shrugged it away, uncomfortable of looking into his reasons for not wanting to kill her.

I am very impressed with this so far. Your Spike gels so well with his canon characteristics. Insightful, yet still thrilling in the risks.
I am totally enraptured and am looking forward to more. The slow warming of their relationship makes it that much more exciting. You didn't rush them into feelings, instead choosing to build a foundation.

Author's Response: I've always thought that love comes with really seeing your partner. One needs that foundation. The romance then becomes so much more intense. The connection is what's important, which is why Buffy avoided conversation in canon. I'm so glad you're liking it!

Awe, to get pampered like that... almost as if in holidays (but only for now). Work will come soon enough.
Spike will be jealous when he sees the new clothes (well maybe); they are more suited for fighting indeed. I wonder if Buffy can take them back with her.
What a backlash; so the blood is different. Very bad indeed because the Gem seems to be lost forever now. Hopefully the other can help when they go back but in a way I don't think though. Except they are send back earlier / just to the point the went away. Good Buffy has still blood to offer now, huh? (I like it that Buffy isn't jumping to give him blood, he isn't hurt yet. It's more believable this way, they were fighting before this happened.)
And I wondered what kind of weapon all this disaster (firestorm) caused; but Spike's theory makes sense.

Spike's definitely not in Buffy's good graces with his remarks (and blows). Thought it doesn't sound as if the ring caused that.
Another prophecy then, what else? Poor Buffy, at last they didn't call it apocalypse ;)
Enjoyed banter, Buffy giving it back now He has spasms every now and then *gg* But Spike told her some truth too. Maybe in time Buffy will think about it (= like being normal).
