Great chapter, it totally made me cry. Poor Buffy AND Spike. It would be so hard seeing a friend go through that. Hope he can convince her to go to the police, but she seems pretty set on the matter. Can't wait to find out why she is so dead set against it. Hope the next update comes soon!

why wouldn't she want to report it? this is a really bad time for her to be so stubborn. the bastard needs to get caught, i have a feeling it's because she knows the guy, but even then, he needs to be reported. i hope spike can get her to change her mind.

Author's Response: I have no idea how I'm writing so much lately. I feel like I'm losing my mind with work. Last time I was so stressed, I couldn't write. This time, I write all of the time! Glad you're enjoying them. I need to work on Blood Money. I'm having a little trouble translating the story in my head into type on that, but I'm sure I'll get back into the swing of things soon enough. Spike did the right thing; I'm glad he convinced Buffy to go to the hospital. When she got raped she needed to go to the hospital; not only to be take care of, for getting evidence too. I hope Spike can convince her to go to the police.

Considering the tough topic that this story covers some people might think it's strange that this chapter made me very happy. I get SOOO tired and frustrated with stories that deal with the topic of rape and NEVER have the victim go to the hospital to get checked out and/or give a statement to the police so that the scummy offender can go to jail! Having the rapist being beaten up by an angry boyfriend/friend is good and all, but going to jail is better and way more vindicating! So basically, I'm happy to finally read a story where the victim is helped out by a sane friend who actually takes them to a hospital. And to even read "morning after pill" and "STD testing" is like a miracle! I never read those words in stories. It's like they don't even exist! So thanks and I look forward to seeing where you will take this story.
Author's Response: Thanks! I'm glad you appreciate the way I'm going about this. There have been stories that I've enjoyed that don't approach things the way I have, but I really couldn't do it any other way. My Spike and I would go crazy if we didn't at least make a strong effort to deal with things in a reasonable, practical manner. It works too, since Spike is the more mature character and wants to attend medical school. Even if that character wasn't a potential future doctor, I would still have to include the medical aspects. I just couldn't bring myself to have it any other way. I really hope you like where I go with this! Thanks for the review! :)

Author's Response: Yeah, the closest I've come to starting out a fic with a Buffy/Spike friendship is my one-shot, so I was interested in writing a fic that explores their relationship from that point. It's nice having them start as friends instead of strangers, because they have a mutual history that I can work with in shaping their relationship. Just something I thought I'd explore.
