Reading Spike's history made me want to cry for him. I want to give Spike a long big hug. The part about the terrible accident and how long it took for him to get better. Dru changing bit by bit while he was recovering. But Spike still staying with Dru and taking care of her. That is the Spike that I love. The Spike with the heart of gold. Taking care of those he loves no matter what. That is the one thing that I always want in my Spuffy stories. I always want that stay to true. Spike having a heart of gold. He is love's bitch and takes care of those he loves. Even though the relationship between him and Dru was already falling. He probably still felt like he couldn't leave her because of Dru always being there during the hospital. Spike is loyal that way. And he even though he might have felt this connection with Buffy. He probably couldn't betray Dru because of the kind of person he is. I so want a boyfriend like Spike and hopefully one that looks like him too. LOL So, he has money. That is cool that he has money but is still trying to get ahead. His accident reminds me of something that happened to a person I know. Where he got into a accident because the company of the vehicle was cheap. So, he received lots of money too. You mentioned Tara a little in this chapter. So, Spike does have other friends besides Gunn. That is great to know. I hope to see a little more of her in other chapters. Tara is one of my favorite characters in the Buffyverse.
I hope Buffy starts acting like the woman she is and not like some scared little girl. I hope she breaks up with Gunn and tells Spike how she feels. I am guessing that Spike is at least 21 since he is drinking. But nowadays that doesn't mean anything. People start drinking before the legal age. Buffy is most likely in her 30s. Nothing wrong with an older woman dating a younger man just as long as he is legal. Buffy just needs to get over it and be a woman that goes after what she wants.
Older Buffy and younger Spike is so much hotter than older Spike and younger Buffy. Well, in my opinion.
Sorry, for the long post. But reading more about Spike just made me happy.

Author's Response: I'm glad you liked the backstory so much. It seems the point I wanted to make of why he was so attached to Dru was clear. I am sorry to say that Tara will not be popping in and out as a regular in thsi story although one of the others I am working on will have her in it regularly. The age bit will be addressed bit by bit and don't be sorry for the long post. I appriciate the time you took. Thanks :)

Dru really changed a lot. And it seems as if she missed Spike's money the most (being able to spent her time fine without him). Spike sounds now as if he'll make it without her.
I'm glad that Buffy had an epiphany and knows what she wants (getting it is a different case) and what not.

Author's Response: yeah, Dru's a real shrew and a money grubber who's off in her own little world. And Buffy is gonna try and recruit some help to get who she wants.
