Yay update! Dru totally deserved that. She had that coming for a long while. Is she going to go back to Spike begging for forgiveness? I can't see her letting go that easily. I'm glad that we were spared the the Gunn/Buffy break up scene. I like Gunn and that would have been sad. Hopefully he won't be too mad at Spike for going after his ex, especially if there is the lovely Fred to heal his broken heart. :-) I love Buffy's new go-get-him attitude.Seems like he won't be to hard to get!

Reading Spike's history made me want to cry for him. I want to give Spike a long big hug. The part about the terrible accident and how long it took for him to get better. Dru changing bit by bit while he was recovering. But Spike still staying with Dru and taking care of her. That is the Spike that I love. The Spike with the heart of gold. Taking care of those he loves no matter what. That is the one thing that I always want in my Spuffy stories. I always want that stay to true. Spike having a heart of gold. He is love's bitch and takes care of those he loves. Even though the relationship between him and Dru was already falling. He probably still felt like he couldn't leave her because of Dru always being there during the hospital. Spike is loyal that way. And he even though he might have felt this connection with Buffy. He probably couldn't betray Dru because of the kind of person he is. I so want a boyfriend like Spike and hopefully one that looks like him too. LOL So, he has money. That is cool that he has money but is still trying to get ahead. His accident reminds me of something that happened to a person I know. Where he got into a accident because the company of the vehicle was cheap. So, he received lots of money too. You mentioned Tara a little in this chapter. So, Spike does have other friends besides Gunn. That is great to know. I hope to see a little more of her in other chapters. Tara is one of my favorite characters in the Buffyverse.
I hope Buffy starts acting like the woman she is and not like some scared little girl. I hope she breaks up with Gunn and tells Spike how she feels. I am guessing that Spike is at least 21 since he is drinking. But nowadays that doesn't mean anything. People start drinking before the legal age. Buffy is most likely in her 30s. Nothing wrong with an older woman dating a younger man just as long as he is legal. Buffy just needs to get over it and be a woman that goes after what she wants.
Older Buffy and younger Spike is so much hotter than older Spike and younger Buffy. Well, in my opinion.
Sorry, for the long post. But reading more about Spike just made me happy.
Author's Response: I'm glad you liked the backstory so much. It seems the point I wanted to make of why he was so attached to Dru was clear. I am sorry to say that Tara will not be popping in and out as a regular in thsi story although one of the others I am working on will have her in it regularly. Dru really changed a lot. And it seems as if she missed Spike's money the most (being able to spent her time fine without him). Spike sounds now as if he'll make it without her.
I'm glad that Buffy had an epiphany and knows what she wants (getting it is a different case) and what not.

Just this morning I was thinking about this story. What a happy surprise! :-) This chapter was just jamb packed with good stuff. I love Spike's initial way of dealing: video games. Avoidance much! I have had many a male friend deal in the same exact way. And I loved reading the back story! You totally made it understandable why he was so devoted to her for so long. Hope. Hope that she would change back into the women he once knew. So sad that she fell so far. Damn drugs! I hope that when the rent & bills come through, she wakes up, realizes how much she has messed up her life and moves back to England. Spike should have known there was a problem when she didn't move to Sunnydale with him, there was no real reason not to. Also love the parts with Buffy and her self-realization. Hope that Gunn doesn't take it too hard. And it doesn't seem that Spike is as young as she thinks! I'm thinking Buffy is around 30? I love reading a story about somebody who isn't a teen. High school stories are fun and all, but it's a nice change, especially since Buffy is so fabulous in this one.

I am starting to lose my faith in this story. But I give you the benefit of doubt that you will get Spike and Buffy together soon. Also, I really hoped that you wouldn't have made Buffy and Gunn a couple. Not only that I really can't picture them a couple at all. I also feel a little sad for Gunn because it isn't going to work out for them. I also feel a really sad for Spike because he just got his heart broken broken and now he has to see his best friend with Buffy. Poor Spike. How much more torture you must be him through. He really doesn't have anyone now. Buffy has all these friends and great people around her. Spike has no one who just got his heart broken. That is just sad for Spike. Also, is Gunn around Spike's age or Buffy's age. If he is around Spike's age. Why did Buffy have no problem dating him but have this huge problem when it comes to Spike. Tell you the truth, I am a little mad at Buffy. Buffy is settling for less and now is probably going to hurt Gunn in the process. Buffy isn't acting like the older woman that she is. She is acting like a scared little girl. I am so disappointed with Buffy right now. If I have to see Buffy and Gunn together much longer than I am done with this story. I just couldn't stand to see Buffy have all of these people in her life and Spike have no one. I seen that enough in the show.

So I was expecting something like that, but not SO like that. I though maybe he'd find her with Angel and Darla. It was a sad chapter for a couple reasons. Although I hate Spike with Dru, it's always sad to see somebody heartbroken like that, especially since he didn't deserve it. Although he really should have opened her eyes long ago. It was also so sad to see Dru in that place in life. Someday she is going to wake up and realize that she's ruined her life and chance at real love because of drugs and that's darn right depressing. But saying all that, Whew! He's finally free. It will be interesting to see how the Spike/Buffy/Gunn thing resolves because it would be sad to see him lose a close friend like Gunn. Can't wait for some more!

and he's what, shocked by that? it was pretty obvious she was a freak, as for things going smoothly, not so much since you had to put buffy with gunn, that needs to end because it seriously grosses me out, i never would have pictured her with him before and it's just too weird. it doesn't seem that spike knows about them yet, that should go over well. so, i'm guessing gunn is closer to buffy's age than spike's.

I really like the younger Spike you're writing, but I'd love to know a bit more about him and his friends etc.
Not the 3 in LA, cause hopefully they'll be gone soon soon soon (he's breaking up with the bitca next chap,right??). I mean the people he hangs out with, what he does in his spare time (he has to have friends other than Gunn, yeah?)
I'd love to see Buffy take a chance and actually make a move on Spike herself. Gotta admit, as much as I like Gunn, I'm uneasy at the idea of him and Buffy.
But, I trust that the Spuffy payoff will be worth it :)
