Author's Response: Ya, after finding out he's been cheating on her for that long I would say she doesn't want to be around him at all for a while.

Okay....Buffy just found out that she is married to a person who is a complete stranger to her. Her marriage is nothing more than a lie where it is just for show of respectability to present to polite society. Years spent with a man who cares little of her heart and well being has got to either make her stronger or break her. I'm hoping that Buffy will surprise Angel and Drusilla by not playing by their rules and make new ones of her own. Since she is hosting the next party, she has home court advantage and can therefore dictate how this party will play out. First have Angel and Drusilla pair off as they always do and go off to do their cheating ways. Then invite at a later hour the respectable and influential work superiors and family members to the party so that she can have them follow her to the bedroom and have them witness Angel and Drusilla in the act. Buffy and William can then walk out on the cheating pair and leave them there in front of their colleagues shocked, embarrassed and humiliated. All is fair in love and war and Drusilla has certainly declared war against Buffy.


Author's Response: I'm not married.I for one am not even in a relationship...but after observing the guts of my parents messy separation but still managed to stay together, it actually happens in real life what Buffy is doing. She knows he's no good ...that he isn't worth a second go but she still wants to be with him. At the moment Buffy doesn't have a lot of options and she thinks that she needs to stay with him until she gets a plan.

Huh? WTF? I expected her to meet William, maybe, but Dru? Why? Did you skip over time, was the first 9 chappies flashbacks or something? Surely she's not gonna give Wm's folder to Dru?
I can understand not showing her hand, but why didnt Buffy tell Angel how she felt about going to the party and clearing up that she'd had misconceptions about the type of party it was--because apparently he had misunderstood her knowledge of this type of swing party--- ie swing/swing dancing vs swinger & swingers!
He's at fault for being the lying cheating POS that Angel almost indubitably is, she's at fault a) for not ascertaining exactly what kind of event she was going to in the first place, and b) at least for not owning up to her naievetee' initially, not to mention her objections after-the-fact.
I adore your William so far. You've just gotta love a shy William. (So long as this is honestly his character and not an act...?) Did you say what exactly he does for a living, or is he a trophy hubby? I figured he, too, was a power-hubby until I read how you characterized him so far.
Well, I'm well and truly hooked. I started and read all 9 chappie so far tonight...time while reading the flew by and too soon I was at the end to date, left wanting MORE!

Author's Response: Ya...i was expecting her to meet William too...but i changed my mind at the last minute and i hope i don't regret it. No, she's not going to give Dru William's folder. Buffy doesn't want to give Dru anything...maybe a slap on the cheek. No, the first 9 chapters weren't fashbacks...I'll say 'flashback' if needed. The thing about Buffy not talking to Angel about the party was basically b/c her embarrassment for confusing what she was attending. Buffy at this point is torn--should she yell at him b/c of this one time thing, this misunderstanding that she didn't talk with him about and stop him, or is there more to the story? She needs more facts. William is a gentle for sure. I didn't say waht his job is...all you know is that he was in a band and that he writes. More to come on his daily life style. He defiantly isn't the trophy hubby....well not in Dru's eyes that is. Before I starting writing this I had to decide if William/Spike was going to a swinger like the rest or the guy I turned out writing about now...I decided to make him like Buffy...they could see eye to eye and connect on this level---they both are having trouble giving up on their spouse. Thanks for the review and hope you enjoy more. :)

Interesting that Buffy and Dru are meeting up, whoever prompted the get together has something they need to get off their chest. So, will Dru approach Buffy about William or Angel? Should be telling on what she wants to discuss with the wife of the man she has used as a lover and confidant. Buffy, on the other hand, has the opportunity to tell Dru that the party took her unawares considering that neither Angel nor Dru had prepared her for the "theme" of the social event. Whether they discuss issues based on their marriage or their difference of lifestyles should be interesting in showing what is important to each woman. Look forward to more.
