Of course he cheated. That's why all their mutual friends sided with Dru. Now Buffy's going to be all insecure about the possibility that he could do the same to her. I hope we hear the whole story this time and not some glossed over, cryptic crap. Buffy needs honesty, and I bet Spike needs to be honest with himself, too.

Good luck for your move!
I had a bad feeling when Spike was hiding and Buffy wanted to know. Would have been best if Spike hadn't said anything a all but now when Buffy had the impression he was hiding something I wondered if that would be something that would influence her or better said: the trust she has in Spike. She still has issues... sadly it seems I was right with my worry ~ if Spike doesn't have a very good reason/explanation won't Buffy have to worry that he would do the same to her?
Hope he has a good explanation for his cheating. Otherwise I don't know if Buffy can bear the thought - except it was with her, the cheating (in his mind or so). But I don't think that could be the case.

...and the other shoe drops.

Interesting twist in that it was Spike that was the downfall of the Spike/Dru lovefest.

To be honest is brutal, hence the term brutally honest. Buffy's initial reaction will continue to sow seeds of doubt into her bergeoning relationship with Spike. She stewed about it all day and into the night until Spike returned--that's why it's so hard for Buffy to remember the giddiness of the very consummation of their relationship.

She, too, is not without feelings of guilt--at what they were to each (step-siblings) and what they are to each other (lovers). Shades of season 6 color their guilt. It's going to be interesting to see the circumstances that lead to Spike's past behavior--because he's always portrayed as the loyal one. The fact that you make Spike so fallable makes this story a more realistic read.

Author's Response: I'm glad you think so...I obviously love the character of Spike in the show, but like you said I did want to make him more fallable because he is human here and he's not a William sort of human, he's Spike, so he's made mistakes and they're on a Spike kind of scale...thankyou for the review and please keep reading :)

yep, that's what i guessed, it's refreshing seeing as how dru's always the one to cheat, but now buffy is going to have even more doubts, like if he did it once, he's capable of doing it again, but i'm hoping that's not the case here. i wonder who the other girl was.

Author's Response: All will be revealed (though it may seem an obvious choice, as I do like to go back to the show)...thanx for the review, I'm glad you found it refreshing, it was because I noticed that Dru is always the one to cheat that I made it Spike...I didn't want to write crazy evil Dru, I just wanted her to be a normal girl in Spike's past that he'd hurt, thats why in the first Chapter I didn't give a reason for Buffy's dislike of her, I just said they didn't get on...
