I enjoyed seeing Spike through Oz' nonjudgmental eyes. What a train wreck! This exchange had me laughing even though it was grim, too: “Bloody hell. I’m fired aren’t I?”


“Pretty much…Unless bartenders can work from home?”


“Even if they could,” Spike said, his voice muffled, “I never ran it by my boss before I tried out the idea.”


“Bummer.” Oz is so unflappable.

Excellent way to get Spike to turn a corner. He needs this distraction.

Author's Response: Thankyou! I love how unflappable Oz is in the series (When they're looking for the judge's bodyparts and he just points and says "Arm"), so I'm glad you liked the exchange...

Love the Oz...and the way he tries to save Mr. Destructo without being patronizing. It's actually fun reading him angst it out on alcohol it because it always gives me a visual of when he fell off the DeSoto...

Glad Spike is getting his life on-track but shame it's without Buffy. Hope they both figure things out that works out best for both of them. Great fic, looking forward to more =D
