I must admit when I saw the flashback scene, I was afraid it was going to turn gooey, but was slap happy to read a perfect blend of sweet, tender, but still funny story. That scene (and perhaps this story in general) makes me think of that song "Thirteen" by Big Star (re-made by Elliot Smith, and sung by countless others like Shirley Manson of Garbage).
And I loved that little betrayal by Xander and Willow at the end, quite adorable...

Great chapter. I love Giles as Spike's father. But I hate it when some writers have Giles like Buffy or stick up for Buffy more than his own son, Spike. I have read stories where Giles seems to care more for Buffy than his own son. Which always made me mad because Spike is his kid not Buffy. Sorry, for that rant. Anyways, I'm glad that this Giles doesn't seem to care for Buffy more than his own son. That Giles loves and stands behind his son, Spike, makes me so happy. Ok, so Dru uses Spike. Spike so needs to end it with her. Something tells me that maybe there is something going on between Dru and Angel. I don't know but I get that feeling. Spike has kind of admitted to himself that he cares for Buffy. I cant wait to see when Buffy is going to admit that she cares for Spike. I can't wait to see how they are going to get together. So, much sexual tension between them. Just admit it Spike and Buffy, you guys are hot for each other. LOL
