One of Spike's most important traits, something that is an important difference from the other vampires on the block, is that he has and
utilizes the ability to *adapt*! Cam's right; Spike IS tough. Look how much he's survived so far (in your fics, especially, LOL!!!)... he'll come around. He might just need a little time to 're-boot'.
And did Riley sound MORE than just a little bit like Angelus? What exactly IS the Initiative pumping-up their super-soldiers with these days? Sounds like it might be a li'l bit of "esprits de Angelus" or essence de Vampire or something... cos, the way he called that tech "boy" and handled the sitch couldn't have sounded more like Angelus!
BTW, you went to a degree of detail, showing that Maggie Walsh even had Angel's soul... you going anywhere with that? In this "'verse" was Angel CEO of WR&H (since you mention Gunn, Lilah, and (? can't remember if you did or didn't mention---) mebbe Lindsey?), and if not, what got him into such a sitch that Maggie Walsh owns his soul? Literally... and keeps it in a li'l jar in her office! So what happened to the grand poof and where did he end up? (Not that I care much about said poofter, just Enquiring Minds wanna know...)
Oh, and BTW--- will they try to repair Craig's arm damage with Spike's blood also? Buffy may have given these boys life, but it seems to me that before all is said and done, Spike might be giving them back their lives.
