So very genuine the reaction Spike had to his first dinner. Even better though is his reaction to Buffy. Good luck keeping her behaving. Do hope he and Riley actually help each other through this. Update soon.

Author's Response: Thank you very much for saying Spike's behaviour seemed genuine. Really appreciate it.

The school for the blind really doesn't show them much other than to figure things out for themselves, the dinner was difficult enough without the peanut gallery chimming in. Riley really lost more than just his sight in his life, at least Spike has Buffy. Look forward to more.

Author's Response: These first few days the facility are observng their patients to learn just where their problems lay. doubt they'd expect Spike still to be as worried about eating sloppily so long after the accident. But they know his fears now and will help him to face them. The fact he has Buffy is what gives him the strength to try to be more independent.

Brilliant adding Riley as a sympathetic character! I actually want him to find some love and happiness. What a bitch of a girlfriend to dump him because of his disability. I also love how Spike stormed out of dinner, because well, it's something he would have done. Really into this story and I can't wait to see what happens next. :-)

Author's Response: We'll learn a little more about Riley in the next chapter. Yes, Spike storming out is exactly what he would have done (unless he'd punched Ted) before the accident! LOL Thanks for letting me know you're enjoying the story.

Enjoyed how Spike is still sticking with it, despite how difficult it is. I'm glad he was able to visit with Buffy, that will really lift his spirits and obviously something else!

Author's Response: Hee! Yes, but with Spike having a roomie, I doubt they'll be able to get up to much! LOL!

Well I don't see how helpful it is to let a blind man find this food on the plate and make a mess; would make more sense to me to teach them. They really do it the hard way there. But it's good to see that Spike is staying, knowing how important it is for him to learn.
But Spike forget to ask Fred about visits. ;)
Good they was an opportunity to visit after all.
People can be really thoughtless (like Ted and Cordelia here). I hope Riley will find that he can find happiness in life even if being blind.

Author's Response: This is at least six months after his accident so I think the facility would have expected him to have learned how to cope with eating by now. He has been pandered to by his mum and the cook which hasn't helped him. People are often very thoughtless. Riley needs someone special I think...
