Revelations such as the one that Spike unloaded on Buffy only serve to prove that he is incapable of commitment and comes across like some chameleon who changes his personality to pursue a woman for carnal pleasure. His mother's ring and his unrealized plans for their future which he derailed singlehandedly prove that Spike only cares about himself. He is proving that by going behind Angel's back to steal his fiance. Turning down an easy one-nighter is a step in the right direction and instead of waiting on the sidelines to catch Angel in an indiscretion, he should just lay his gauntlet on the table with Angel and tell him that "may the best man win". Angel can respect that better than a betrayal from a friend. Look forward to more.

Wow. His reasons for leaving Buffy were incredibly cowardly. I think I might just hate Spike a little. I'm starting to think Buffy would be better off without him. (Slap me sideways, I know. I'm such a disloyal Spuffette.)
I guess despite the attempt to redeem him there at the end, I still see shades of that ah.. man whore mentality, and it sadly does not work in his favor. The fact that I'm even considering Angel to be the better choice is.. traumatizing to say the least.

I liked that Spike opened up to Buffy. I also liked that Spike passed up Faith's offer. Great chapter!

i was a little worried for a second there, but i'm glad spike turned faith down. i hope these two can find a way back to each other.

Cordelia may be an ally that Spike may not want to over look. What better way to keep everyone happy by making sure that the breakup was by mutual agreement and move on to other people. Look forward to more.

hmm, i wonder just how spike plans to stop the wedding, if it even gets that far. i feel bad for buffy, she really did not have it easy.

Wow! Spike thinks he can jump through the window and pick up where they left off? He really left her when she needed him the most. Reminding her of that time in her life did not make for warm and fuzzy feelings. Really, if he wanted her to take notice of how he is a changed man, he should have not attempted to resume sneaking into her home for a love liason. He could have forced her to open the door by serenading her to the point she had to think of her neighbors and admit him inside her home to get his shot at her. One bad decision after another, Spike is proving that no matter how much time has past, he is still the not any wiser. As a familiar saying goes - roughly remembered..."sometimes it is better to love someone who is good for us than to love someone who is not". Spike needs to make himself into that kind of man for Buffy. She has been hurt enough. Anyhow, glad that Buffy is sticking to her guns and is not making it easy for Spike to prove his love. That needs to be earned and not takened. Look forward to more.

Oh Spike...always the impulsive one. :) Very hot kissage, but Buffy feels so guilty for kisisng him back, and Spike didn't make it better by not talking to her. Poor Buffy, now we know why she stayed in SunnyD. :(
If Spike wants to make it work, he better start explaining himself, cause Buffy isn't just gonna leave Angel cause he says he wants her. Oh man Angst is a comin' now.

One question...how long has Spike been in Sunnydale, that he didn't know Buffy was there too?

Author's Response: Hmm, well, since Spike has known Angel for about two years, I would say that's how long he's been in Sunnydale. I think I mention it in the story later on. It's been so long since I've written these chapters, I tend to forget what I wrote...lol!

Loved the chapter, hopefully everything works out with Angel/Buffy/Spike.

Leaving for someone else's own good is just a bad excuse to my ear's. I think Spike really needs to re-think on that issue because if he really loved her, he would have fought to become the man she deserved and stuck around. The Spike in this story really needs to stop blaming everyone else for his own bad decisions. Only then, he will become what Buffy deserves. For now, he only comes across as a boy who lost his toy and can't stand to have others playing with it. Love Spike but as you so eloquently wrote through Xander, he may end up doing a great deal of damage. Look forward to more, thanks for the update.
