I have no problem with fics where Spike is an arrogant horses rear-end, providing he gets fed a suitable helping of humble pie at some point. Do not like fics where women fall for guys who are actively bullying and insulting them. William needs to apoligize and grovel a bit first.

Author's Response: Ha, love your take and I agree. It's gonna be an uphill battle. Hope you won't be disappointed.

I'd love to be your beta. Digging the complexity of the back story and the layered world you've created.

Author's Response: I'm SOOO excited. I'll send you an email through the site.

I just caught up to this story. You have me totally hooked and I was sad when I reached the end of the 3rd chapter. First of all, Spike can definitely be described as a sexist male chauvinist pig. If somebody did that to me....ooh, there would be wrath or tears or both. But saying that, I still am in to his character and can't wait to see what's behind the prickly facade.

Also, coming from LA and specifically Montebello which is smack dab next to Monterey Park, I appreciate your more accurate portrayal in LA. My biggest pet peeve when reading an LA based story is when they generalize the city as a whole or have characters "walking to downtown". Haven't people heard the song about how "Nobody walks in LA"?

Author's Response: Hi there, thanks for your comments! Yeah, I think he does border on sexism or cross right over it sometimes. I'll keep that in mind. I think he's usually a jerk to everyone though and Buffy would seem out of place to any observer as head of an agency at her age--just to say he doesn't believe women aren't as capable as men in general. I'm glad LA rang true, it's been a long time since I lived there. I intended MP as a little joke because it's LA's Chinatown. Do you want a spoiler? You'll find out that Buffy's house is in Culver City. ;)

William, has it occured to you that she doesn't feel she owes you any explanations?

Author's Response: Ha, yes! What does he expect? True Confessions from a girl he's belittled and alienated? Thank you for commenting and hope you aren't finding his characterization too annoying.

Interesting look at the dynamics of Will's friends. Mmmm...Angel offers an interesting twist also. Looking forward to more.

Author's Response: Yes, I was thinking of season seven when there was that funny scene where Buffy, Xander, Anya, and Spike had to explain how they had all had these incestuous pairings. And the Gunn/Fred/Wes thing was just straight from Angel, of course. Thank you as always for commenting!

More characters come into view.. Angel especially. Don't hate him BTW..
And I see William is going to be nicer.. waiting to see what happens next.
Enjoyed.

Author's Response: Thank you, Pam S. Yes, Angel is tricky for me. It's definitely good/right that you don't hate him. In that phone call, did you get the slightest feeling that his work (more on that to come) was more important than Buffy's? Maybe more in her view than his? Re: William. Yeah, he's gonna try, anyway. Let's see if that works out for him! P.S. If I'm spoiling too much for you, just tell me to shut up. ;)
