He's awake! Love the picture of him walking naked into the kitchen. Can't wait to find out how that special mixture he received affects him in other ways. The scenes between him and Buffy were so sweet. You were so effectively able to show the connection they have now because of what they went through.

Love Eddie! He was hilarious and added some nice brevity throughout the chapter, especially since he knows more than he probably wants to know. The quadrangle that is Giles, Dav, Xander, and Willow is sure messy. I leave that up to you to sort out. ;-)

Wonder what happened to the initiative and primarily Maggie. would like to think she's permanently gone, but I'm sure it's not that easy.

Every chapter you leave me wanting the next one so waiting game is on again.

Poor Eddie. :) And though it will surely be a bit awkward, perhaps Dav and Giles can be good for each other. At least they seem a bit above what passes for adult with Xander. And Spike is alive. I wonder what he'll think of that development. :)

I thought that it was well written. I am curious to see how Spike reacts to being human. As for the Dav and Giles sex? You have been leading up to it but it still felt kind of uncomfortable. It was a wonderful scene and the characters felt authentic. Maybe it is just me. Sorry.

Hee... naughty Giles. ;) I have to admit I was rooting for Giles and Davinia to get it on, therefore I'm very pleased. I really like Dav, especially in this chapter... she's mature and has a character. It would be so easy to say yes to Xander but she stuck to her principles and self-respect even though she still has feelings for him. I don't see Xander as the bad guy either, he's just confused. But that's thanks to your lovely writing, you're always elaborate and I also love your imagery. :)

Author's Response: Thank you so much for the lovely comment! I really didn't want to paint Xander as the bad guy, just as a confused kid. I even gave him several moments in the previous chapter and this one where he shone as a hero who would have died trying to save Spike because it's what Buffy wanted. Glad you liked the Giles/Dav sex. It was really not supposed to be that graphic, then I went nuts.

"She didn't want the other occupants of the apartment to know she wasn't strong."

Pretty much sums Buffy up perfectly.

Enjoyed the chapter very much.

Riley's hero in the end. Seems fitting his -all-American wholesomeness won out in the end.

Maggie kills one of her own--maybe this will snap into an epiphany of just how eveil and obsessed she'd become. (Seeing the villain repent/redeemed--always a plus in a morality play like BTVS.)

The end is nigh...looking forward to seeing how you wrap this up. (But only if there will be still another story soon.!)

Great to see an update to the story! Needless to say, Maggie is off her rocker. Oh, my heart goes out to Buffy having to wait, not knowing if he'll come back. But it looks like help is finally on the way. Totally biting my nails over what is happening to Spike!

A few more notes, I LOVE Andrew and Eddie. They are so cute together. Just loved Andrew tasing Ethan, he sure deserved it.

And this chapter finally killed the last hope of Xander & Davinia. He had something so good and now he has this weird thing with Willow. What ARE they doing? I guess she saw something good in his head because they were at it again. Poor Giles. I'm glad he said something, because they're acting like addicts or hoarders. They are not aware about how their actions are affecting others. I hope you go further with the conversation between Willow and Giles, because I was ready to read more. I really wanted her to start being accountable or well least aware of what she really wants.


Author's Response: Yes, I totally killed the last hope of Xander and Dav while I restored hope for the rescue of Buffy and Spike so as not to leave everything crummy. Glad you liked the discussion with Giles. It will continue. I wanted to do a small bit of compulsive dark Willow and self destructive Xander. In a way this bad behavior is a good thing. It catches their tendencies before they get out of hand.

And you very much have Giles voice down. His dialog *sounds* like Giles. Enjoying very much that Giles has been a man of action on this story--dusting Angel, socking Ethan in the kisser.

Maggie has gone 'round the bend. What she's done to Spike is simply horrific. Mentally ill or not, she's the true monster, not the demons and vampires in her lab.

And now I'm curious to see what Ethan's serum is going to do to Spike. It's not quite Mohra blood, but close enough I suspect that it may do more than just revive his body....

Also curious about thebackstory with Dr. Oliver and Dr. Walsh. He knows her childhood pet name...so many implications there.....

That was the most inspired, brilliant idea in this whole story, I wish it had been mine. See, you're reading closely, and I think you know what's going to happen with Spike. Maggie is completely out of her mind, no excuses. She's had a break with reality. Thanks so much about the Giles praise. In many ways, this is his story. I don't know if you read the comics, but this is kind of my love letter to that character. It means so much to me that I'm doing him justice. Dr. Oliver and Dr. Walsh and their strange relationship. I am not sure exactly how much of that story will be revealed before the end. Thank you for your wonderful comments!

I hate it when uni work keeps me from enjoying the finer things in life. So good to finally get to read this chapter! It looks like Riley's starting to waver. I'm not 100% sure he'd help them escape but I'm sure that he wouldn't stop them if he saw them fleeing. The parts with Spike and Buffy were both touching and heartbreaking. I don't know what Riley saw but his justification was chilling. Nice touch using Halliburtion, a part of the military industrial complex..
