I'm not usually interested in blatant AU, but this one held my attention, and I read it all the way to the end. It was an interesting premise, and it was nice to see it explored.

Author's Response: Thank you. I'm glad you took a chance on it.

I had written a review about how this was only the second Randy and Joan fic that I have read and liked, (I don't read many) when I realized the other one I liked was this one.

Really amazing fic here. This was completely in character from Tabula Rasa.
I loved the was the spell brought out peoples real personalities and allowed for a kind of deconstruction of the characters. The actual episode did the same thing, and it was what actually convinced me that Spike could be all the way good soulless. It kinda cemented the man-crush I had going for him. A shake up like this plot outlined could have really refreshed the actual show, which really could have used it at that point no?

Anyway, I really liked the way you handled the character interactions before and after the spell.

Fantastic job.

PS. If you could lead me to any different J&R fics that would be cool.
I would lime to see how another writer could handle things.

Author's Response: Thank you for the detailed information about what you enjoyed. It's always nice to have that kind of specific feedback. :) I'm a sucker for Randy/Joan fics, but it's been a long time since I've seen any others, and I don't remember the titles or authors. I think most of the ones I read a long time ago were on All About Spike. Some of them were quite dark, though, so you may or may not enjoy them all. Probably if you used "Tabula Rasa" as a search term on archives that have searches by episode, you could come up with a few more. Sorry I can't be more helpful. The Story(Saga?) of Joan and Randy is the only one I can think of, and it is a future fic and quite dark.

This was my first randy and joan fic. I never liked the episodes so i methodological skipped all fics about it. Until i found you, and i liked all your other stories so much i decided to give it a shot.
And yay i did! If the ep would have gone like this, i would have actually liked it! Great job

Author's Response: Thanks for taking a chance on it. I'm glad you liked it.

This is absolutely delightful. I've never seen an extended Tabula Rasa fic, and I thought this was really well done. Loved how they interacted with each other before the memories were restored, loved Randy's resigned, melancholy foreboding (heartbreaking!), and just when I was thinking it was about time the spell should end, it ended about a sentence or two later, indicating that the pace was really good. Loved the resolution, and that all these beloved characters were acting reasonably and trying to treat each other well. Very well done!

Author's Response: Thank you so much. I love Tabula Rasa fics and have been waiting for years for a plot bunny to do one. i'm glad you liked it.

It was good for all of them that the spell didn't end right away. That gave them a possibility to live without their issues. They could connect with each other in new ways.

Author's Response: Yep. A chance to get to know each other without the baggage. :)

Thanks for the great story – even if Willow didn’t get tossed out of the house. Looking forward to your next one.
