I didn't expect Buffy to do the Dawn ritual/mission thingy so fast tho. I guess she couldn't help it. And Yay she's in love but of course won't tell our Spikey. Did Spike realize he turned human for a bit? Or was the lust too much and he didn't? I'm so worried now to see what Buffy will do. Take a runner I guess, but ya never know with your evil muse.;)

Oh and I loved the title of the chappie...that's exactly Spuffy right there.. Accidentally in Love. It's why I always shipped them, and not Bangel. I couldn't stand that the show TOLD me Bangel were in love(that just stops me from liking or caring about a couple).. all of a sudden, cause a couple of episodes before she thought he was a creepy stalker guy.Then suddenly he was The Love Of Her Life. Whatevs. I liked that Spuffy grew organically, Two different people who never expected to fall in love, but did...and all the ups and downs and hate and fighting and sex and friendship that came with it. Amazing! :)

Squeeeee! I'm so glad you found the chapter to be hot and loved Spike's description of their love-making. He made me a totally swoony with it. {swoony sigh} I was afraid it was dorky, but then, it's William so I guess if it came across dorky, then that would fit too.

I honestly didn't expect Buffy to do the ritual this soon, either. I thought I'd have lots more time to just 'fool around'. I'm telling ya, I had *no* outline for this story beyond: Dawn dies, Buffy snaps, Spike helps. It is completely character driven. I know that sounds weird, 'cos - who's in charge here? But honestly, the characters are, in this story more than any I've ever done. (it's a bit worrisome, actually). In that moment Spike had us all just overwhelmed with soft, gooey, rain-on-a-tin-roof caramel-y goodness. Buffy was caught in his web and just reacted. He's not gonna remember being alive, just figure overwhelmed with the big O.

What will Buffy do now ... hmmm.... We'll see soon. Will have the next chatper today sometime, RL permitting.

Yeah, **nods** I totally get your logic on the Bangel vs. Spuffy love story. I read a book recently which kept *telling me* how hot this character was. Ummm ... excuse me? Have him do or say something hot! It was annoying and it continued through the whole book. Even when he did do something that might be hot, being *told* it was hot just grated on my nerves! Instead of making him hot, they just tried to tell you he was. {shakes head} Doesn't work that way - or, it doesn't for me. Luckily, as fanfic writers, we have the luxury of working with a character that has already been proven hot, sweet, pouncey, romantic, and a badass over many years, but still, Angel rarely did *anything* truly hot or sweet that I could see. Warn Buffy of impending doom? Yeah, I can see why she'd love that! *rolls eyes* Oh! Maybe it was the necklace! Oh! Maybe the necklace was charmed and made her fall in love with the creepy stalker guy! Oh! I feel a new story coming on! ... sorry - sidetracked ... It was definitely the struggle that made the Spuffy story so much better than the Bangel one. Plus, Spike: hot. heehee!

Are we absolutely sure that Negative-Buffy isn’t The First?! It was nice that they were able to talk (some) about what happened in the shower. It was heartbreaking how it triggered another episode but once again the Bot provided much needed comic relief, “She cannot leave. We have not created my new database of ‘Smartass Retorts’,”! Spike was able to calm her down and bring her back and just when that’s over your evil muse has to have Angelus show up?!! A busy weekend has put me even further behind with this story but I will catch up – I hope before you reach the end. Thanks for another great chapter!

Author's Response: LOL! Oh, Blue Eyes ... I feel for you, I really, really do. When I started this story, I intended to actually write three alternate endings: one easy and happy, one melancholy, and one angsty. However, the longer I've worked on the 'first' ending my muse started, the more I doubt I will ever do the 'easy' ending or the melancholy one. So, {sigh} we're stuck with the angst. I'm very sure there will be frustrated screaming - but, take heart, it won't last tooo long and there will be happy spuffy later. {{hugs}} sorry!

HI! Wow these were really good chappies. The talk on the balcony was so sad, they are so afraid to reveal their real feeliings, especially Buffy, cause she's so broken.Buffy won't tell Spike about Dawn's soul and that they have to make a baby and now they are both totally misunderstanding and miscommunicating. :( that's Spuffy for you.

Loved jealous buffy, and the bet about the words hungry and peckish. Spike is so sneaky.;) The massage and the sex...oooh boy tres hot in here! You write super sex scenes missy. Good to see that Buffy was able to hold off the madness and guilt. Then again sex with spike could cure all kinds of ailments I bet.

The Bot was so cute. Loved her covering her ears and singing. LOL It was nice to see Spuffy happy and laughing...they needed that, cause I know the angst is on it's way. And Buffy seems to be closer to Miss Bot. Wonder what will happen? *is innocent* :)

Buffy picking Spike over Angel was great, but it's like a double edged sword for me, cause I know it'll never happen in canon, and it always depresses me that Joss won't let Buffy mature outta the Angel swoonage, first love, destiny crap. So it's nice to see in fiction but sad too, y'know? :(
Adored the scene where Buffy had to pee and threw the wet towel on Angel and turned the shower on. Brilliant! Nice to see Buffy is lucid for longer periods of time too. the baby thing has me worried, tho. I hope things don't go to hell in a hand basket when Buffy decides what to do about that.

Continue to love the Bot, and Zzyzx, Ca.. Great name.

Yeah S9 has really let me down too, I'm glad you got a little validation with Spike seeming to want kids, tho. That's abou it. Buffy continues to be a class A idiot, and pretty much a bitca, but I blame that on the writers and the editor of the comics. and Joss doesn't give a damn about 'em no matter what they say. He's too involved with his Big Ass Career. I go on buffyforums alot and learned how much the editor hated Spike during all the season 8 interviews so I have no hope actually(he's since then backed down a little, but too little too late IMO) He's since said in the letter column in the Willow comic to some Bangel fan, that they're not sure where Spuffy will be in S10, just that they know where they end up in S9, so like I said very little hope. :( Anyway enough of my rants.

Author's Response: Hey AMI! I do know what you mean about the comics, but I'm just gonna have to stick my fingers in my ears, cover my eyes and go 'la,la,la,la,la' and just pretend they don't exist. The fans kept Spike alive when he should've dusted, and they will keep Spuffy alive no matter how much Joss, etal want to squash it. I haven't gotten past the bit where Spike goes off with the Bug People again in S9, so I guess from what you've seen he does come back? Part of me just wants canon/comic-Spike to tell Buffy to kiss his ass and move on, but that probably won't happen 'cos the writers also know they'd probably lose ALL spuffy fans. Stringing us along is better, business-wise.

Glad you liked the Angel ass-kicking. :) My second favorite thing to do behind dusting him. heehee! He may be trouble later, tho, you're right. Hopefully with Buffy, the bot and Spike, he won't be tooo much of a problem. ,

I'm so glad everyone is liking the bot! I know lots of people were probably leery of her being along (As was I at first), but she's really lightened the angst and she'll continue to evolve as things go on.

Oh, dear. What will happen when Buffy decides to actually make the baby? That, of course, is the $10,000 question! We'll all just have to wait and see!
