So many good things in this chapter. Good and friendly interaction. Everyone got to know how intelligent Spike is. He got thanked for the things he has done. Buffy had some naughty fantasies.
I got a bit worried that Xander has done something in the crypt. I got that thought when I read the ending.

There was so much to love about this chapter. You included many of the things I'd hoped you would :D Flirty/affectionate/cuddly/romantic Spuffy, Buffy craving Spike and having naughty fantasies about him, Spike being smarter than he was ever given credit for (by the other characters and most of the writers), Joyce being very cool and accepting of her daughter's new relationship, Buffy being protective of Spike at the restaurant, and her friends being nice to Spike ^_^ You also made me hungry for Chinese food, btw lol<br><br> It was sweet, funny, and so well-written. Can't wait for the next chapter! I love reading stuff that makes me smile the whole time =D heehee Great job, hon!

There was a ton about this chapter that I just LOVED. You had me choking up a couple of times, then you brought the steam in, and finally you had Buffy standing up for Spike, showing him affection in front of everyone! Out of all of it, I think this line is my very favorite, though: "She could almost hear herself screaming in pleasure as Spike broke her body, then, with a gentleness and love she hoped she could be worthy of, he put her back together again." That sort of covers everything from the steam to the choking up with emotion. :) You're doing so well, Dark Heart! Hard to believe it's your first story. I certainly hope it's not your last! {hugs}

Xander has always had a crush on Buffy. Almost an obsession with her. Part of me hopes he's been possessed and that is the reason for this behavior. But another part of me thinks this has always been there. We saw it in season 6 Entropy. He always wants what he doesn't have and never appreciates what he does have.
It bothered me that Anya, as much as I like her, was forgiven for her crimes the moment she became human. She never experienced a moment of regret for what she had done until the frat house in season 7. But over a 1,000 years of death, pain and maiming and snap! It's forgotten by everyone because she's human. Those souls really are magic aren't they?!
I always thought Xander was willing to pretend Anya's past didn't exist because he was using her as a nice excuse to make Buffy jealous. It didn't work and he found himself trapped in a relationship with Anya until he finally bailed on her at the wedding.
After this outburst though I can't see Anya staying in the relationship much longer. She deserves so much better.

So glad I did absolutely nothing to gain one at birth! : ) As for Xander, I really don't want to spoil anything that's gonna be coming up, but I will say that I agreed with everything you said about him, especially the whole making Buffy jealous thing, and having it backfire on him when he found out she was just happy for him. In case you couldn't tell, I'm not a fan of him! I loved how strong and supportive Joyce was. You did a great job with all the characters. And even tho it was a tense situation, I liked the funny moments you injected into it. Anya, as always, provided some good comic relief :DI wanted to punch Xander from the second he opened his mouth lol I liked how Giles verbally spanked Xander a few times heehee Xander being upset that Spike was taking his place with Buffy, and his anger that she would even consider dating Spike and not him, made sense. It was pretty clear that canon Xander had some unresolved Buffy-lust. It made me want to punch Xander even more than I did before lolBuffy standing up for Spike (and for them as a couple) to her friends is big-time wish fillfulment for me. And Buffy slapping Xander? That was the cherry on top of the sundae :P Just when I thought it couldn't get more awesome! heehee Great chapter, and thanks for the shoutout, sweetie ^_^ *hugs*

Oh, I love Buffy standing up for Spike! Finally seeing all the good he's done for them and not dismissing it! And sweet Tara finding her voice to stand with Buffy. Always love her. And of course Joyce, the lioness! I think we can see where Buffy got her Slayer blood from! Why am I afraid that we may not have seen or heard the last from Xander yet? The little weasel ... I wouldn't put anything past him! Buffy better keep a good eye on him. Too bad they can't actually dis-invite PEOPLE.

I loved Joyce deciding to go with Buffy to face the Scoobies, ready to give them a piece of her mind :D I'm so glad you kept Joyce alive lol Her chat with Spike was very touching, and I lol'd at the funny bits. You did a great job with including more of the characters' thoughts and feelings. I'd swear you've been writing for years if I didn't know better! I loved the bit with Buffy thinking how Spike doesn't condescend when he talks to her. That's so true! That was a very cool description of Spike sword-fighting the demon in the cemetery! I could easily see it on the TV screen in my head :) Buffy's talk with her friends should be interesting! I hope Joyce smacks Xander if he gets bitchy. But a verbal smackdown would also be satisfying heehee
Author's Response: Hey PB! : ) I'm glad I kept Joyce alive too, she gives me another point of view with which to come at the Buffy/Spike thing that the scoobies don't. And with Joyce still alive, Buffy's gonna be in a better place emotionally than she was on the show. I'm pleased you liked my attempt at delving a little deeper into the thoughts and feelings of everyone, I wasn't sure how it would turn out, but I'm quite happy with it. And as for the condescension thing, it's true though, right? Angel always had this air of smug superiority about him when interacting with Buffy or the scoobs. One of the things I took an instant dislike to, regarding him. I'm glad you like the little fight scene as well, wasn't sure if it would work, and if people could 'see' it in their mind, but if you could see it, then that's brilliant. And as for the talk with Buffy's friends... I'm hoping to deliver something satisfying, and of course, can't have Joyce remain a spectator through the whole thing... dun dun duhh! : )

Insecure and rambling Buffy, nicely done. Buffy is to hard on her self. The real abuse didn't start until season 6 and it wasn't that long ago he stopped being an enemy. But Buffy is always hard on her self.

Yes, Buffy is very hard on herself and yes, the real abuse started later, but as mentioned in previous chapters, Buffy wasn't all that nice to Spike leading up to the tower incident. She's just focusing on the negatives a bit too much. She'll sort it out and find a bit of balance... maybe with Spike's help...?

Loved the chapter! It was funny, touching, and - yay, we got Spuffy kissage! And it was a damn fine kiss, too @_@
I lol'd at this sentence: “Oh shit, this was it. Now came the talking … with the words and sentences and all that crazy stuff.” I also loved the whole 'derailing the thought train' bit :D
I wanted to cuddle Spike so bad when he thought Buffy was kicking him out of the house, and when he kept trying to not let himself even hope that Buffy could care for him *cuddles*
My Spuffy lovin' heart was dancing by the end of the chapter. Cuddling Sleeping Spuffy! ^_^ heehee

Nervous Buffy is a funny Buffy! She has been emotionally damaged by the men in her life so fro her to be nervous is understandable. Every guy she has cared for has let her down. Makes a girl gun shy!
