Love the thought that Dawn is made of Buffy ans Spike :) About Joyce - I frea it will go like in the series (her dying) I just hope that Caritas will help her, too. Did I told you before? I'm glad that the Spuffy angst is over - for now .. Author's Response: Hi Beth, I know this will disappoint some, but I set this in that small frame where Angel was ignoring the AI team. I don't know much abuot the show so I didn't want to risk getting it all confused. So, at the moment Angel had kicked them all out. Not sure when they came back and I apologise if it was before he slept with Darla, but there you have it.

This was a fantastic chapter! You really stuck it to me with the emotional. I have tears running down my face still. I also agree that it is really great to have Angel both accepting Spike as he is now, trying to help him, and getting something positive from the experience for himself.

Thanks so much for your explanation of your ideas behind writing this story. Although I may not agree with your choices, I appreciate the time and effort involved and the fact you ARE writing about S/B. There is no doubt very few of us are happy with ME’s decisions about the relationship, and we all have differing ideas as to what was wrong and how to “fix” it. I am enjoying your take on the characters and the fact that you are having Angel learn from Spike. That was more something that was sort of explored in As5 but not nearly enough. Of course Buffy is going to fight with herelf but I like that of all people to tell her to get over it that Angel did. Why rehash the same stuff that was on the show finding a point and creating your own world is part of writing.

Since you challenged those of us reading to please review, I hope you won’t be offended if I express some qualms as to the characterizations in this fic. First, let me say I really liked and enjoyed your other fic, “Taste of Juliet.” However in this fic, I’m bothered by the fact that everyone is seeing Spike in a different and positive light except for Buffy – something completely different from what happened in canon. As a result, Buffy’s behavior towards Spike and Buffy herself come off worse than in the series, and I’m not sure if that is your intention. I also find Angel, who always treated Spike very badly (on BtVS and AtS) and who (IMO) is the primary cause of Buffy’s emotional problems, strengthens this perception of mine by being the one to lecture Buffy as to her treatment of Spike. Again, this may be your intention, and that’s absolutely fine. It is, after all, your story :). I hope this has been constructive.

This was such an amazing chapter, I never thought I'd find a fic where I actually liked Angel, of course many of it has to do with the fact that you've portrayed him as a compassionate and mature person that made Buffy realize that things are not always black or white, but they can come in a multitude of shades and colors. Can't wait to read what you have prepared for us next. :D

i really like your story- the plot is great and everything, but the only thing that kinda gets me is that theres an awful lot of writing that doesnt really drive the plot, lots of reflection and thinking and stuff that slows it down a bit and i find myself skipping big chunks of the story... but thats probably just me and my impatience to read more and find out what happens next :)
