Thanks for having Buffy finally face that Will is responsible for his own actions. No one made him stay married to Dru, or continue his destructive relationship with Xander and Cordelia. He can't depend on Buffy to hold their marriage together single handedly. It's a terrible time to make ultimatums, but Buffy needs to protect herself and their baby.

You write the gut wrenching drama very well, and I could really feel the emotional overload Will was experiencing. Buffy finally letting go was a long time coming, the tension has been mounting. Her next conversation with Will is going to be a doozy. Thanks for the update.

Winnie, true, the potential for Spike to love Buffy may be there, but if it were me in her position, I'd always question the motivation for his love. The baby complicates matters immensely. I sympathize 100% with Buffy, as you seem to (I do feel for Spike and the mess he's in, but Buffy takes priority for me, even without the baby). I've been in situations where my worth was unclear, coming in below carreer, daughter, and high school buddy. So feel for Buffy I do. And as difficult (emotionally) as this story is to read, I'm here until the end.

Spike has proven over and over again by his actions and words that he doesn't love Buffy. He's just using her to feel better about himself. Now that she is pregnant, her priority should be to the baby (not Spike - especially since she is like 5th or 6th on his list of priorities). No matter what Spike says now, it won't change the fact that he doesn't actually love her - yet. I do think the possibility is there for him to fall in love with Bufy, but he has to get his crap together and grow up. Buffy should stop being his emotional punching bag and focus on the baby while giving Spike the space he needs to finally mature. - Well, that's my opinion. LOL

I am glad that Buffy is finally coming to grips with the truth.She shouldn't be forced to live her life the way she has, she needed to realize she has other options and that she and her baby deserve peace and happiness even if it is away from Will. I would love for these two to work things out but Will has to make a HUGE effort. I always get excited when I see a new chapter from you. : )

Oh, my. You can't help but feel for Buffy here. Even after hearing that, she's in such a tough position... Both she and Spike need some time apart, I think, but Spike's going to need her help to put himself back together. And of course there's the baby to think about.

Assuming they both live, of course! :)

And yeah, not too concerned for Xander here. Sure Cordy was a manipulative bitch, but so was he and it seems he was basically using her as she was him.

WOW, holy heck! Ok, I knew Cordy and Xander had something to do with Dru's death, but for him to actually do it, WOW. And now, poor Buffy misunderstand Spike's words. She's not a replacement, she's his new wife, but he still loved his former, and of course it was only natural to want to work things out in the end. But she was killed before he even had a chance to try. Now Buffy is confused, will she tell Spike about the pregnancy, or will she run back to Sunnydale and to Tara? Can't wait for your next installment. Great chapter, btw!

I finally caught up with the past five chapters of this engrossing, dramatic story. You've painted a vivid picture of these self-involved, morally corrupt people as seen through Buffy's eyes. William's struggle is painful, but it's so well written I can't stop reading it. The pieces of his past made him the man he wants to change.

Xander's duplicity was self serving, and Cordelia's agenda wouldn't be denied. As a couple they were a formidable force, and their fight to own William body and soul was awful to read. You've written a strong willed, grounded Buffy here. She keeps getting emotionally knocked down, but gets up fighting for her right to have a strong, happy relationship with the man she loves. Spike's declaration in this last chapter may finally break her.

The mystery of Drusilla's murder was an excellent back drop for all the emotional drama, and I'm enjoying the twists and turns in the plot. I can't wait to read the aftermath of Xander's confession and suicide.

Please update as soon as you can! I just finished reading this chapter, and I'm seriously on pins and needles to see where this leaves our beloved couple. Poor, poor Buffy. All she wanted was a happy marriage with the man she loves, while raising what should be a beautiful baby. And I agree with some of the reviewers here. If Spike doesn't do everything in his power to prove to her that she isn't just a convenience. Only there for so he wouldn't have to be alone. Than maybe they do need to separate for awhile, so he can see just how important Buffy is to him.
