I know that Spike really does love Buffy, that much is obvious, it' s just he falls short on how to show it. He shows it best when he's not trying to be all control freak on her. Are we going to see any of our beloved Giles in chapters to come? I'm dying to find out what's going on with Buffy and the pills!
Author's Response: Yes, he does, he's just not sure how to show it. Alot is explained (about his parents relationship) in Chapter 8, which is up now.
As for Giles, well, he's a paradox and will be for most of the fic, however, well, just read it and you'll see.

Oooooh really good chapter...Giles men know what they want I see. SPike is so smooth. I love how he set up the date with Buffy at the restuarant. Man she's fainting already. I was hoping she was faking so she and Spike could get with some hot loving but I'm glad she caught the exchange between father and son. I can't wait for the next chapter.

I like it, I don't know why but I like Spike as an asshole you know? I mean not a big one but like this, it adds a little spice and drama to the whole thing. Make sure that Buffy doens't forgive too much, too soon though, I know she loves him but she shouldn't just be okay with everything he does. Great story I want more.

Crap. She's pregnant isn't she? Can you have an allergic reaction to placebo pills? Well unless it was something bad that "Doc" gave her. That'd be an interesting plot twist! All that controlling would blow right up in his face! I still like this story, and I like learnig more about why Spik eis teh way he is. Sounds like he could use some independance of his own as well..he could learn something from Buffy...

Okay, I love this story so far! It's well written and keeps you wanting more. That being said, more please!
I do have to say that I do sympathize with Buffy. She wants to stand on her own two feet and I really hope she pushes the issue with Will. Everyone deserves to feel they have something of their own, something they worked hard and felt good about themsellves for. She obviously likes her job and doesn't want to be a 'kept woman' and she shouldn't have to be. Will needs to get over himself! He'll lose her if he keeps trying to control her, she'll only love him more more letting her spread her wings. The story just bring out the inner feminist in me lol. Can't wait for more...
Author's Response: Good! I want the inner femnist to come out in everyone! Believe it or not, when I wrote this fic, I asked my husband about different scenarios and how Spike would react as to how he should react.
My husband was rooting for Buffy to kick Spike the curb!

I'm not so sure I'm crazy about this story, but I'm going to give it a few more chapters. Spike is a jerk, and Buffy is a complete pushover. And trying to get her pregnant against her knowledge and Giles being ok with it? I'm not sure I like any of the characters so far. The story is well written and all, so I'm giving it a little while longer.. mostly to find out what the REAL reason Buffy won't marry Spike, because I didn't quite pick up on it. Good luck, you have my interest, even if I'm irritated at the characters.

Actually this story is complete on another site and I lost alot of readers after chapter 4, there..interestingly enough.
Please keep with the story because it is a story about Buffy's journey to independence for herself, and Spike's journey to become a better man.
