I started reading Spuffy when I was on bed rest last year, pregnant with my first baby. I was on bed rest for what seemed like forever, so I read ALOT of spuffy.

Imagine my surprise to find that I was completely hooked, even when I could leave my bedroom again.

My two favorite stories are "My Life Closed Twice" by Anaross and "The Last Summer" by Annie Sewell-Jennings. If you haven't read them yet, go! Read! Ana's is at the Just Rewards archive and The Last Summer is at All About Spike.

Those two are amazing writers. Their characters are fleshed out and believable and their stories are moving and I just couldn't stop reading. (I don't know either of them, btw :)

Oh, I feel so sorry for this Buffy and Spike, shunted aside to make room for the other Buffy and Spike. Especially young Buffy, who lost all of her friends and her mother as well. But I can't wait to find out what happens next!

Author's Response: Well, it is a bit rough on them. But I'm going to try to make it better. As much as I can, anyway. Thanks for reading.

Ohhhh, poor Buffy. Willow and Xander as vamps. I wonder if the sense of family Spike felt was actually them (due to being sired by the Master or Angelus perhaps) or someone else? Also wondering who the Master is and whether it really is "Old Batface".

I love the codeword, just hope it doesn't backfire on them by being possibly something another Spike could say...

As always, I enjoyed the chapter!

Author's Response: Thanks - I'm glad you liked it. Yep, it's a worst-case scenario for Buffy. But she's got better help this time around...:)

Awwww, I wish Spike had answered young Buffy's question fully. But she'd probably back off if he did. Darn Angel-loving Season 2 Buffy. Thanks for the update.

Author's Response: LOL - well, you're right. She probably would have backed off. She's getting smarter, though. Have patience! :)

Her shoulders relaxed in relief. “What was it?”

“Jus’ a curious little chit tryin’ to get a look at my goodies,” ---This whole part made me laugh, it was great, wonderfully awkward and humorous at the same time. Her "I love Angel" outburst is such a perfect teenage Buffy in denial statement.

Also loved the separate notes from Spike and Buffy to their other selves and the back and forth between both spuffy couples that was hilarious and very in character for both sets/versions. I'm so sad that I have to wait another week to find out what's in the letters! :)

Author's Response: I'm glad you like that part. I had fun with it. :) Next update, next week, and then who knows? I'll be out of the country for two weeks. I'll do my best, but don't know what kind of access I'm going to have.

Oh, I love this so far. The dreams Spike is having, the new take on the Halloween episode - so cool. Fun that she's her former self rather than just a random helpless girl.

This was the chapter I was waiting for - the next meeting with present-day Spike. Wonderfully written, I loved that Buffy could anticipate his moves, her inner despair at her predicament and inability to convey it believably to Spike. A tortured Buffy and confused Spike - I just think you conveyed the emotions really well. I'm enjoying this story. My apologies for not leaving a review every chapter. I keep hitting next and swearing I'll go back to review and uh...I haven't because uh...I keep hitting next...

Ohh nooo. Huge cliffhanger there :P We finally found out what she sacrificed. Strength seems kind of vague, she thinks it's the slayer, but maybe it isn't or could be interpreted differently? So sad that I ran out of next chapter arrows. I can't wait for the next update!

"He ran until the shapes around her materialized into the familiar courtyard outside Giles’s apartment." --See I think it's sentences like this one that make you such a good writer. You don't say that he ran to Giles's apartment complex or something similarly dull, no, he ran until "shapes around her materialized" into the familiar setting. Not a very important sentence in the grand scheme of things this chapter, but I think it's a good example of how much care you take in your writing and how you don't opt for mundane phrasing.

It didn't occur to me that removing the Slayer part would kill Buffy outright. Can't wait to see how they're going to outwit Paimon.

Summary: Buffy has fallen in love with the work of an up and coming artist that has taken the world of art by storm… William Wellington, a known recluse. When presented with a rare opportunity to attend a private showing of his latest works, she accepts. As her evening unfolds, she meets a handsome, sophisticated stranger who harbors many dark and dangerous secrets. Her strong attraction for the mysterious man coupled with an unexpected gift changes the course of her life in a way she never could have imagined in her wildest of dreams. Oh, my GOD. I love this. I don't know how I missed it. I was surprised that he was a vampire at first, but how much more interesting a painter that must make him to have all those years of observing people and places!

This is fantastic and I can't wait to read more. I'm at work right now, though and I want to get lost in the story, so I think I'll wait until later. Really interesting beginning and so well written. Love it.

Author's Response: Awww, thank you, sweetie! I'm so happy you're enjoying this story. *bg* I guess many people were surprised by him being a vampire since I didn't really wrote that in the summary. *giggles* That's such a sweet compliment, wanting to get lost in the story, I mean. Thank you so much! *hugs*

Not disappointing at all! Still wonderful. I love that she picked out his favorite painting amongst all of them and that he wants her to have it. Continuing on to the next chapter now, I can't wait to see what happens to (presumably) change his mind about seeing her again. I wonder if he'll try to paint her from memory?

Author's Response: Awww, thank you, honey. I 'm so happy you are not disappointed. Hee, yes, I think he will change his mind quite easily. And you'll find out about that last question on chapter 8 or 9, perhaps. ;)

Oh, I hadn't thought of that. To be an artist who could never see his subjects in the light of day. The way light interacts with objects is so much a part of painting, to never see them in sunlight is so sad. Poor Spike.

Author's Response: Yeah, it's sad, but at least now he has Buffy to brighten his home and his somber existence. Thanks for reviewing!

Noooooo...I reached the end of what's written. Hmmm, hard to imagine Buffy in any form as compliant and grateful. Sounds like there will be more Riley bashing in the future. Looking forward to your next update :)

Author's Response: LOL, yes, I agree, but Riley is a bit delusional and thinks she just needs a little persuasion. And of course there'll be more Riley bashing in the future, just can't help myself. ;) Thank you so much for reviewing!

Oh good! An excuse to come back and he has plans for the day. I love that Spike is disgruntled at the interruption but perks up at Anne's sly mention of a cooking lesson. Anne is sweet.

I love that he shared his private refuge and passion for painting with her. I also liked the servants' viewpoint that showed how rare a gift it was. Lovely chapter and first kiss. Did I read somewhere that English isn't your native language? I seem to remember that. I would never, ever have guessed it from your writing.

Author's Response: Yep, Spanish is my native language and it makes me very happy to know I'm not doing that bad work then. ;) Thank you so much for reviewing, darling!
