And I'm so, so happy that I went out on a note that I'm pleased with. I really like my final chapter, and that makes me darn happy. I'm really loving this fic. I think Spike's character is very well drawn and I feel so bad for him, while at the same time want to throttle him much of the time! I need to hear more about Buffy before I really form an opinion on her, but I love their interaction, and in this chapter especially I thought it was very believable. Neither knows the perfect thing to say or do, and they're struggling. Can't wait to read more!

Oh, what a horrible thing for Spike to have gone through, and I can understand Willow's inability to forgive him. I like how Buffy isn't the perfect listener---her reactions are totally realistic and make her seem like such a...normal girl. Can't wait to see what happens with Riley!
Author's Response: At the same time I have them referring to each other as angel and devil, I've been trying to show how they both go against those labels. Buffy has had her own unique life experiences, but she's also just a normal faulted young woman. Like you say, she doesn't always choose her words wisely or fully think things through before she speaks and sometimes she just doesn't notice how she might come across. She's ultimately a 'good' person, but she's far from perfect. Glad you liked it! I imagine Riley's appearance will shake things up a bit. Large pissed off man equals not good.
